ill start my CF approx March 25th 2017 (+/- I'm flexible) traveling from Bratislava Slovakia ( or Vienna) to SJPP. There are low cost direct flights Bratislava to Girona and also Paris. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations about ease of travel from Girona (Cataluña) to SJPP. As always, responses are much appreciated.

Hi Ján, I'm still not booked yet to arrive end of March in SJPP. I'm trying to fly out of Bratislava or Vienna. But can you tell me from where it's best to fly back home (from Madrid)? Thanks for your suggestions.

Hello Colette!

Unfortunatelly I don't know the flights back from Madrid. My way home will be: from Santiago by bus to Porto (3 hours) and from there direct flight to Prague. In Porto I will stay for a while, because of recover, you know.. :)

Maybe you can find some answers here: https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/forums/traveling-to-from-the-camino.19/

Renfe train from Girona to Portbou/Cerbere. SNCF train from Portbou to Toulouse, Toulouse to Bayonne and Bayonne to SJPdP.

Renfe train from Girona to Barcelona, Barcelona to Pamplona. CONDA (ALSA) bus from Pamplona to SJPdP. End of March there will likely only be one bus per day.

Hi Colette.
Last year I visited a pilgrim friend in Györ - Hungary.
My plan was.
From Barcelona airport to Vienna airport.
Return from Bratislava airport to Madrid airport.
I hope it helps.

Hola Mikel, muchísimas gracias ! I decided to fly Bratislava - Madrid - Bratislava (I have 46 days total ) as the route from BCN to Pamplona-SJPP was more complicated vs Madrid-Pamplona night bus. Also I prefer Madrid - Bratislava return to get "home" faster (My place in Slovakia is 45 min from the airport). I'm in the excited stage, happy to see my first pack of backpack is 4.2 kg hoping not to carry more than 5kg.
