Hi everyone!

I walked the Camino Frances in May of 2015, and am excited to be walking the Camino Portuguese in May 2017. I'm still debating my starting point but it will be Lisbon, Coimbra or Porto, depending on whether or not I decide to get back to Finisterre after Santiago.

Would love to know who else will be walking the Portuguese at that time and what your route plans are!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Have fun on your second camino. We are doing our second, the Portuguese Caminho, in 2018. So one years difference from you sorry. It looks different from the Camino Frances one (which we completed this year). We plan to start in Lisbon and to go to Finisterre before Santiago. Not sure if we are doing the coast or central walk at the moment but we have time to plan. Enjoy your planning and keep us up to date on your Caminho. Kind regards, Connie and Adriano

Hi Suzanne,

I will be starting my first Camino either in the 10th or 11th from Lisbon! I plan to do the central route to Tomar then bus over to Fatima then head north back on the central route to Porto. Leaving Porto I'm looking at the coastal route variation to Rates and then onward to Santiago. Still deciding if I will have time to hit the end of the world.

I speak the language and have family along the way I probably will be visiting for a day or two in Porto. I'm going solo but look forward to meeting other piligrinos along the way!

Cheers!

Daniel

Hi Suzanne
I'm leaving Lisbon early April. Haven't decided which way and will probably let the Way decide as I go along. There will be a list of things to do and places to see but this will be a leisurely saunter to Santiago. I have learnt to take pleasure in the taking of pleasure.
Regards
Gerard

Daniel, perhaps our paths will cross. I will be the peregrinations who speaks no Portuguese...

Everyone who is starting from Lisbon -- be sure to check out the forum/CSJ guides in the Resources section. One for Lisbon to Porto and the other from Porto to Santiago. These have been compiled based on the reports of many forum members and CSJ members and are pretty up to date! Bom caminho, Laurie

The pope will be in Fatima on May 13. That may be something to see.

Lisbon is a beautiful city. The cities and towns appear much different from Spain but are nice towns. I've been told by many that walk in between Lisbon and Coimbra is somewhat undesirable but yet, I liked it. I was told this path has improved but there is very little community support. The further north, the better the support but if you miss Coimbra, then you miss a nice city.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

I am doing my second Camino (did Frances in 2016) starting from Lisbon. I arrive May 2 and will likely spend a couple days there before I launch off. I may let a good weather window help with the departure date ! Happy to try to meet in Lisbon to at least day hello to a fellow Perragrino :) Bob

Dad (who is 75) and I started last year out of Coimbra, walking into Santiago. This year we are starting in Porto to Finisterre on 3rd May and think we will do the coastal route. We loved it so much it has drawn us there again. We walked the Camino Francis in 2013 & 2014. So if you see a father and daughter from Australia say hi!!!! Xx

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
