Baggage storage in madrid

Dawn of a new Day

Active Member
hi everyone. I need to store a suitcase for at least a month while I walk the Camino Madrid. Can anyone recommend a hotel that will store luggage. Most hostels will only keep for one-two weeks. Thanks

When you arrive in Madrid, book a hotel and leave your luggage there. It is usually done for free for Guests with a reservation. Then, when you return to Madrid, a room and luggage are waiting for you. I doubt there will be a problem with a Peregrino making a reservation on an undetermined date. They understand this well in Spain.

Unfortunately, the hostels here will only hold one or two weeks!

You are right. Hostel options are limited but I found that a Peregrino can acquire a preferred rate in hotels, especially smaller ones. Present credenciel and see what happens. Consider one night upon arrival and one night on your way home. The added comfort and privacy is usually welcome.

When considering what is possible over what does not seem likely, many options can present themselves. I have paid less for a hotel room than some Albergues.

There is actually a pilgrim albergue in Madrid, run by the Korean Camino Association. http://cachinyeon.wixsite.com/madrid. You could write to see if they would store it for you. Their location is not bad for starting out on the Camino de Madrid, at least if you plan to start at Plaza Castilla -- it's a few metro stops away. (I would honestly recommend starting at the church of Santiago/San Juan in old Madrid, walking through town to the Plaza Castilla and continuing on, but I know many people don't like city walking).

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
