Can anyone recommend a really good massage therapist/body work sort of person in Merida? Or anywhere along the VDLP north of Zafra for that matter. Thanks in advance for taking the time to reply.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
No I can't recommend anyone although there must be professionals around.
I can only advice you that you find a certificated one and with good references.
As far as I know massage therapist is not an official degree in Spain but physiotherapist and chiropractor are.

Ps here is a link.

There is a Roman Spa, just 17kms on the Camino in Aljucen, where you can bathe your pains away before having a massage, they also give a pilgrim discount, Google their website aqualibera if you are interested.... Who said the Vdlp was hard, pah!

Thanks, Sabine - how convenient that I have a reservation at Hostal Aquaforum.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Baños de Montemayor is another spot where you can get a pilgrim deal on a massage at the termas.

Thanks for the suggestion. I struck out on appointment availability in Merida. When I arrived in Aljucen I found a note on the door of the termas saying closed for the day for personal relaxation. Maybe BdM will work out.

Bummer, must be a tough gig running a spa.

One reason for me choosing the VDLP is to avoid the constant stress of the bed race on the busier routes. Alas I haven’t escaped it. Literally every bed (that I’m able to contact) is full from...
I think I’m on day 12, so not quite two weeks in. Thus far the VDLP is definitely a different animal than the CF. And I have to say, I’m struggling to enjoy it as much as the CF last year. I...
