Hello fellow pilgrims ..

Im considering the Norte as a 2nd Camino in September .. Any ideas on what the weather will be like?

Also; Looking at ways to get there.
If i fly into Barcelona; can i buy a flight ticket from the airport to San Sebastian? - or would i have to do this online?

Thanks so much.
Buen Camino!

Most likely you will have a good weather, neither too hot, nor too cold. Be prepared for some rain (probably you will have some rainy days, gentle rain, no storms).

Hi Njema, the prices of the flights go up more each day, so it's best to book online as early as possible. If you book on the day of the flight you'll probably be charged the maximum fare, which could be hundreds of euros. You can book your flight from Barcelona to San Sebastian online with Vueling. Despite the name, San Sebastian airport is actually in Irun, which is the start of the Norte, so this is very handy. If the flights exceed your budget you could also check for flights to Bilbao (although this is a couple of hours away from Irun).

Vueling usually offers 3 flight options, with the cheapest "basic" fare allowing you 10kg of cabin baggage, so perfect for a peregrino. Note that you will probably need to check in online (you'll have to print the boarding pass out yourself), or on your phone (with the Vueling app, which can be scanned at the airport). With most budget airlines in Europe there's a hefty fee/fine if you arrive at the airport without your own printed or electronic boarding pass.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
