Helo, dear pilgrims!
Or somewhere in Portugal the pilgrims have to change routes, or fear for their lives due to the forest fire?
Are the forest fires currently threatering pilgrims from Lisbon to Porto and from Santarem district to Fatima?
Your Martin.

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
Yesterday I had a chat with a hospitaliero who works in a donativo albergue Casa Catolico in Branca, that is between Albergaria-a-Velha and Sao Joao da Madeira, about 50km south of Porto. He's confirmed that the fires are out and it's safe to walk. They only stopped receiving pilgrims for 1 day, then the normal activities resumed. The wind got down, so did the fires. Hope it helps in planning. Bom Caminho to everyone! :)

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Thanks for the update. It is a relief the fires are out for the moment. The temps the last days have cooled - let’s hope it stays that way. Bom Caminho all.

Here's a quick link to an app that shows where all fires are, throughout the country. Orange ones are still live.

Although it's in Portuguese, it's pretty easy to use!

Best wishes to everyone walking through the region...
