Walking over Easter 2022-Camino Ingles

Time of past OR future Camino
2017 September
Hello. Walked my first Camino 2017, the CF, when I turned 60. Following year I walked the Portgues from Porto. Last year I had flights , and trains booked to walk the Ingles in April—changed dates to June and then canceled everything. Hoping to walk it in April 2022 but this time over Easter. With Covid(hopefully) in the past, will the Way be too busy to enjoy?

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
We walked the Inglés during Semana Santa in 2018. Although it may have been busier than during other spring weeks, it wasn’t at all crazy. But, recognizing that many Spaniards walk this camino in the week leading up to Easter and that the infrastructure is not as developed as on the CF, we booked lodging in advance so as not to deal with any possible “bed rush” for limited albergue spaces. As we found a number of groups of people walking, having rooms reserved in small inns proved to have been a good decision. Although we walked in five straight days of rain, it was once again another great camino experience. Finishing in SdC for Easter weekend was a real treat. We then walked on to Finisterre.

We just walked the Camino Frances from Leon to Santiago. We were there from October 3 through the 19th. We booked our accommodations in advanced. We met other people who were having issues getting places to stay. Our son met us in O'Cebreiro and he stayed in public alberques in Treacastela y Palas dei Rei. He got there early and was able to get a bed. The other places we had booked for all of us. The hostals and hotels we stayed at were at 60 percent capacity. We had great weather and the journey to Santiago was wonderful. I miss Spain!!! Bueno Camino.

We are thinking for doing the Portuguese route from Porto next year? Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Walked the Coastal route and loved it. Used the Wise Pilgrim app on my phone. Found it wasn’t as well marked as the CF so the app definitely helped. Be sure to stop/stay in Oia

Did you by chance stay at La Cala: A Pilgrim’s Inn in Oia? We have an overnight planned in Oia in April. What do you recommend seeing, doing, or eating?

I don't think you have to worry about the Ingles being crowded. We walked it in July and saw few pilgrims until we reached the towns where we would stay the night. Be prepared for cool or cold temperatures, however.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Trying to book train from Santiago to Ferrol and nothing showing right now—does that mean it’s fully booked out?
For April? It means that the schedule hasn't been released yet.
I use www.raileurope.com to search for train schedules. They have an option to receive an alert when the schedule is available.

Too early for train schedules. When we went this past October. The train schedule came out in September.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
