Hi Ingrid,
I also had to abort my Camino once I got to Estella. I injured my foot and ended up going to the hospital in Pamplona. I was so very disappointed and in a bit of a funk once I got home. But with a badly sprained foot I just could not walk. But I will be back hopefully in 2019!
Anna
She had surgery early June and we are walking as of 02Aug. She has been faithful with physio and a personal trainer. So I think she may be in better shape than me.
We are from Canada and opted for. Heaper flightscinto Paris and then booked the TGV and a local train to SJPdP where we will start. On our return we booked an express bus back to Paris for 59€ because there were no cheap flights available.
I am walking with my sister starting on 03 August from SJPdP and since she had a miniscus repair surgery a month ago we decided to still use a daypack each but are "sharing" a carry on bag with our heavier items to ease thestrain on her knee. Initially I had not wanted to do this but this is...
Am walking in August and had planned on just bringing my sleeping bag liner . Am I going to need something warmer? I can always wear extra layersto bed or should I plan to bring something warmer? Reading the comments on this thread I am second guessing myself now.
Thank you and I do know about Vueling. However for my travel date the airfare works out to $358 Cdn or just over 300 Euros per person. After living frugally on the Camino I cannot justify this amount.
I am just trying to book my return bus ticket from Santiago back to Paris and fluked across Flixbus which is coming up at only 60 Euros per person - sounds too good to be true. Their reviews seem to be similar to Alsa and Eurolines and am wondering if anyone has any firsthand experience. Thank...
Will this strike also affect the overnight bus from Ourense to Paris as this is the cheapest way we found to get back from Santiago to Paris on 02 September.
Since we will be arriving from an overnight flight we opted for TGV from CDG Terminal 2 to Bordeaux to Bayonne and then the local train to SJPdP. It cost us 187.00 CAD for first class. However, on the way back we are taking a commuter train to Ourense and then a 19 hour bus ride with...
I had contemplated using Camino Ways because I had time for only a short portion of the Camino but now I have 32 days, still a couple of days short but I am ok with that. I will be walking with my sister who had knee surgery three weeks ago and we are going to transport one carry-on bag ahead...
Thank you Everyone. We have decided to take the 1215 train from CDGto SJPdP arriving at 2208. I spoke to the owner/manager at the Auberge where we are staying the first night and he says it is no problem. They wait until the train has come in before closing up for the night.
Hi Everyone,
I am getting quite excited now as our departure date is approaching. We land in CDG terminal 1 at 0620 on 02 August and I have found a fairly cheap flight with Air France from terminal 2G into Biarritz departing at 0845. These flights are with different airlines. Has anyone had...
Thank you for your insights. I guess my other option is that I walk it all and when my sister can't do an entire she could always hop on a bus or taxi for part of each day.
