Need advice on flying into Biarritz from CDG

Hi Everyone,
I am getting quite excited now as our departure date is approaching. We land in CDG terminal 1 at 0620 on 02 August and I have found a fairly cheap flight with Air France from terminal 2G into Biarritz departing at 0845. These flights are with different airlines. Has anyone had this type of connecting time and do you feel it is enough? We will have checked our bag from an international flight so will need to retrieve it before checking in with Air France.
I also understand that we should be able to pick up a ride from Biarritz to SJPdP. Would appreciate some advise before purchasing my ticket.

CDG is a large airport. A lot of time is required to get to outlier terminals such as 2G. See the link for 'shuttles' on the CDG website. If you miss every shuttle and have to wait the entire period for the next it could take an hour and a half (including walking) ... that's after you get your bags and clear customs.

It might work but it depends on everything connecting like clockwork. I don't think you have enough time.

Caveat is I've not been to CDG airport.

At Biarritz ... take Chronoplus bus #14 from Anglet Airport to Gare Bayonne. Then take SNCF train from Bayonne to SJPdP.

If your schedule doesn't make the train ... and you don't want to stay in Bayonne for a night ... there is Express Bourricot, a private hire taxi based in SJPdP that caters to Pilgrims.

I agree with whariwharangi that you won't have enough time. You'd have to be at the Air France desk about an hour before your flight to check in, so this only gives you an hour or so to make it from Terminal 1. This just won't work, if you consider that: from the time of hitting the runway (if you land on time), you'll probably be on the plane for 15-20 minutes before disembarking, and then you'll need to go through passport control. No guarantees here, as it depends on how many other flights arrive at the same time, and how many officers they have on duty (I've occasionally arrived at CDG and they've only had one person manning the desk, creating a rather unpleasant bottle-neck). After that, you'll need to wait for your luggage, which could also take a while. CDG is the largest airport in continental Europe, and your two terminals are at opposite ends. Quickest would be to catch the RER metro train between terminal 1 and terminal 2. But then you'd still have to walk to 2G, and Terminal 2 is so big that it has its own dedicated shuttle service!

Long story short, I think you're going to need a later flight...

The train from CDG to Bayonne, change to train to Biarritz, then train to SJPdP. Easy cheap and fast.

I would not even attempt that connection.

Thank you Everyone. We have decided to take the 1215 train from CDGto SJPdP arriving at 2208. I spoke to the owner/manager at the Auberge where we are staying the first night and he says it is no problem. They wait until the train has come in before closing up for the night.
