    Infectus Iter Itineris

Our journey unfinished when a heart attack close to El Burgo Ranero in September 2007 forced me to stop, we will return to that small village in June 2009 and resume our pilgrimage to Santiago. This is our blog: http://crusoe.shawwebspace.ca/

    Mailing suitcase to Santiago

I won't bore you with the details, but after a heart attack felled me close to El Burgo Ranero in September 2007 and put me into Hospital de Leon for a week and from there, home to Vancouver Island in Canada, my wife and I are ready to resume our Camino in June of this year. We will be flying...

Leon to Astorga via Villar de Mazarife

The last hospital I visited in Spain was Hospital de Leon. It was in September 2007. My wife and I had walked the Camino from St. Jean Pied de Port to just outside the small town of El Burgo Ranero, where I was struck down with a heart attack. We will be resuming our Camino in June of this year...

    "Learning to Walk" Sept10 08

Hi Paul, My wife and I are in our early sixties and walked the Camino just about a year ago. For us, we often gave thanks that we had decided to carry two poles each. Whether uphill or down hill, they were of tremendous help. They almost certainly saved our knees on the many downhill stretches...

    Snoring

I have to confess, I am a snorer. I was really concerned before setting off on our Camino last September. I did not want my snoring to cause anyone a sleepless night. What could I do? There is a product called "BreatheRite" (I think that's how you spell the word?). It consists of an adhesive...

Great information, Sillydoll! Thanks. 30 minutes equals 2 days walking! I wonder if medieval pilgrims would have taken a train if one had been available? :) Thanks again. Richard.

Even though the ambulance paramedics gave me an E.C.G. outside a garage in Leon and found nothing wrong, I did indeed listen to my body and the message was to get to the hospital as soon as possible. Phew! Cheers, Karin.

Thanks, Janet. It was a little more scary for my wife than for me as I was being carefully and skillfully looked-after in Hospital de Leon. Fortunately, our daughter in Canada, dropped everything and flew to our side. Regards. Richard.

My wife and I walked the Camino in September 2007. From St Jean Pied De Port in France to El Burgo Ranero (about 40km before Leon). El Burgo Ranero!!?? I'm sure you're saying: that's a strange place to end your Camino! Well, after leaving Bercianos del Camino, I started experiencing some chest...
