    Im doing my packing and Im not sure whether to take a 1.2 kg thermarest (sleeping mat). My whole bag weighs 7.5 kg excluding it. Is it worthwhile? I leave on Friday the 20th and will be walking in July and August. I know these are the busiest months and refugios and albergues might be full...

    yes he is a bit acerbic but I started out reading Paolo Cuelhos Pilgramage and that (in my humble view) is a load of twaddle. That guy took himself far too seriously so it was nice to have a change.

    Old news, Im sure but has anyone read this book? Im half way through so dont give away the ending if you have! This is the fourth novel about the Camino that Ive read and so far is definitely the best. Recommended!

    Thanks for the replies and also for all the advice everyone is posting. I´ve got the form ready to fill in from Mundicamino - I´m hoping to save a bit of hassle at SJPP by already having it ready. And I only found out about it through this forum.
