    Need to ship stuff home

Hola Pilgrims. I need to ship some extra weight home. Viana has a Post Office, which is where I’m heading. Will they have packing supplies there, ie: small box or bag, tape? Any help is appreciated. Buen Camino!

Need a second Passport (credencial) in Estella

Thanks, Trecile. I knew you’d know. Buen Camino!

Need a second Passport (credencial) in Estella

I’m heading into Estella today. I’m needing to get a 2nd credential for stamps. Can anyone advise how, or where I can pick one up? Thanks.

    Thank you, Forum.

I leave tomorrow from the US to SJPDP to begin my Camino (Francés). Just want to say “Thank You” to this Forum; I’ve gotten many good ideas, and several questions answered. Hope to report back. Buen Camino! I feel like a baby bird finally flying the nest.

    My own socks test

I feel ya, brother. I, too am on a biologic due to Crohn’s Disease. All I can say is what works for me. As my daughter says, ‘you do you’. I leave for my Camino Monday (Franćes). I’ve been training for the last year. I used Injinji toe liners with Smartwool socks (two layers). I did 1040 km of...

    Crohn’s Disease

Mark, where can I get something like this? I’m leaving next week and the nervous stress isn’t helping my chronic situation. I’m thinking this might be just what I need on the Camino. Thanks.

    Poncho in SJPDP?

Thanks Susan for the info. I tried to buy it through the Forum Store, but check-out told me that “Shipping” would take 2-3 weeks and I’ll be on the Camino before it gets to me; also said the only place to pick up in person was Santiago de Compostela. But I do appreciate the info. Buen Camino.

    Poncho in SJPDP?

Sorry, I was only referring to @Antnix1, regarding a rather snarky comment on my simple inquiry. I should’ve “quoted” him individually; thought I did.

    Poncho in SJPDP?

Since context isn’t really understood apparently, I should have simply asked if a high quality poncho is simply available to PURCHASE in SJPDP, since the cost of “things” might be less expensive than where I live (US).

    Poncho in SJPDP?

Ok, I get it. You get what you paid for.

    Poncho in SJPDP?

Ok Pilgrims, quick question. I just paid $39 for a Poncho at a local outdoors store and I’m already planning to return it, because I just saw another Pilgrim say they only paid €4 for one on the trail. So my question is if they do, in fact, sell ponchos in SJPDP for that kind of price. Please...

    Walking with headphones?

Hey Mods, isn’t it time to shut this thread off? It’s really getting tedious.

    Night Hikes / Star Gazing

What about the Meseta? Is that stretch an option?

    Night Hikes / Star Gazing

Ok, Monty here. Love starting these threads: I learn so much from the Veteran Camino Pilgrims. Thanks in advance. My question: are there so called “Night Hikes” in certain regions to get out and view/explore the awesome stars and constellations on clear nights? I’ve heard about this a few...

    Walking with headphones?

In my training walks I might listen to my playlist: a lot of Worship music, but plenty of Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin. Throw in some Andrew Lloyd Webber, Classical and Prince. Guess I know why my wife thinks I’m a little ADHD🤪. But mostly Worship music. HOWEVER, in Western North Carolina, if...

    Booking return flights!

I had the exact same wonder. I booked a One-Way ticket because I didn’t know exactly how long it would take me to finish, and I didn’t want to be pressured by a schedule to adhere to. However, I posed this question to the forum and got valuable feedback concerning Immigration concerns for my...

    Bar Etiquette

Ok Pilgrims, I’m starting my first Camino (Frances) in a little over 2 weeks and am “wrapping up” my miscellaneous questions. This is a little trivial (no snarkiness, please): I’m a solo pilgrim. If I stop off at a Bar or Cafe and want a beer or something, do I “seat myself” and a Server comes...

How to call a US cell number from the US (when the phone is in Spain)

I’m with Verizon (in the US). They want $10 per day to use my phone internationally with limited data. With a 30-40 day Camino, that’s more than I care to spend. I’m planning to use the free WhatsApp to make calls when I have WiFi (Albergues), download an eSIM for my phone when I wanna use data...

    When should I stop training?

First thing: this is not a health question. I would seek my doctor’s advice for that, not a forum. I’ve been hiking, stretching, etc. for almost a year in preparation for my Camino. I was wondering what the pilgrims with Camino experience thought about not hiking or walking right up to when I...

Should I bring my own Mercado bag?

That’s a good point about the ‘shower area’.
