I have in front of me now, one of the disposable pillow cases that was provided by an albergue. It measures 40 cm x 90 cm, and is open at both ends.

I put my checked-in rucksack in a black bin bag (refuse sack for US folk?) and wrap it in parcel tape. For the return journey, I carry a spare black bin bag and just tie the top of the bag (i.e. it's not wrapped in tape). It's worked well so far.
My first Camino was the Frances, and I wasn't able to continue on to Fisterra/Muxia, due to shin splints. Very annoying. The Ingles was my second Camino. I had a couple of nights in Santiago, then walked to Fisterra and finally Muxia...
