I was in Paris a couple weeks ago for the first time. I’ve been to France several times but never to Paris.

The last time I was in France it was when she was burning. I was there on a work trip and saw the news and informed the elderly French man making my pizza about it. He and I watched the news and he was just in shock.

It was so nice to be able to go see her nearly back to her former glory. I thought about all that have worked to bring her back and how they will be able to bring their kids and show them what they had done.

I had the pleasure of hosting a couple of young French touring cyclists last summer, one of whom was a highly skilled carpenter now fully employed in the restoration. All credit to those engaged in the project: the restoration is indeed in safe hands.
