It beggars belief that certain Spaniards continue to make their tortilla like in medieval times, because that is what they show you in this video. The non-stick frying pan has been around for over 60 years, the temperature of the gas stove can be easily regulated, and no doubt the non-stick frying pan also has a lid to preserve energy and speed up the cooking process.

Yet here this cook goes again, wasting buckets of precious cooking oil as if he is working with a rusty frying pan, his one and only pan, on an overheated wood burner. And at the same time, they use their phones to make a video.

It's fascinating to see how he probably was taught by the best, who was taught by the best, who was taught... on it goes back into history, until the times of the arrival of the potato in Spain.

 🤭

Ah, one of my favorite morning snacks along the Camino - tortilla español! Nice video showing how easy it is to make at home. Since my first Camino, we make it regularly in our house. The grand kids enjoy getting involved making it as well. As I’m sure the chef did in the video, we save the oil we cooked the potato’s and onions in and reuse it. Buen provecho!

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
