The daily figures total 17,722 compared to 17,346 last year and 19,587 in 2010, the Holy Year. It is best to look at March and April together since the monthly total is greatly affected by Easter.

The Santiago pilgrim office issued 3,171 Compostelas today. The second time so far this year when the total has been over 3,000. The first was on Good Friday when 3,193 Compostelas were handed out.
