No, they are 2 different paths:
The Nive - Bidassoa route, destination Irun
Le Chemin de poste the destination is Bayonne
From Bayonne to SJPDP it is only the Chemin de Poste
...I had my PLB. A place like that is an uncommon exception, though, and the only time from Le Puy to SdC that I didn't have cell service most or all of the day. Same on the Primitivo the year before. Fwiw, if I want to connect from SJPdP to the Norte in the future, I'll take the VoieNiveBidassoa.
G’Day @ottoline ... at this weblink you will find the maps that you are after ...

...Cicerone guide to Via Podensis/Le Puy route has guides to two routes from SJPdP to Hendaye/Irun for Le Puy walkers wanting to continue on Norte. One is the GR10. The other less mountainous route, is the VoieNiveBidassoa.
I have not walked either path, but there is a published guide for them.
I arrived in Irun today. The GR10 is a beast, for sure. I didn’t know about an easier alternative other than the VoieNiveBidassoa. I just followed the trail markings and used a GPS navigation app.
...to go to reach Irun. I underestimated how demanding and technical the GR10 is, especially between Saint-Etienne de Baigorry and Bidarray. It’s hand over hand rock climbing in places. The views are spectacular but you need to be well trained. If I had it to do again, I would take VoieNive...
Hi there
What an amazing piece of work. I just got back from the Via Podiensis, and really loved the Wise Pilgrim app - maybe a collaboration?
I stayed in a new gite in Maslacq - Chez L. It was hands down my favorite of all the 37? 38? places I stayed. Beatrix was amazing. Here's the website...
Hi Dave
We are just starting to plan a walk in France after completing the Spainish part 3 times. Thank you for this extensive spreadsheet, it will make the planning that much easier.
Warm regards

As others have suggested, rekkon the VoieNiveBidassoa is the way to go ... beautiful basque countryside ... the file posted by @Pafayac from <aucoeurduchemin> will serve you well ... good, helpful and reliable info ... bon chemin et profite bien 👣👣👣
An alternative is to take "Voie de la Nive" ("Nive way") in reverse to walk from SJPP to Hendaye/Irun.

This thread is very interesting and well written by @Aurigny
They don't actually walk the Via Baztan but do spend a night camping in Espelette - in January of this year. There is then an encouraging account of breakfast the next morning!

Peppers

Named after the town of Espelette, about 35 km NW of SJPdP on the local voieNive-Bidassoa, red Espelette peppers provide a piquant taste in Basque cooking. Such Chili pepper seeds were introduced to France during...
Dave, others: We are considering walking the Cele variant route from west to east, Cahors to Figeac. Does it make sense to aim for the same towns to stop in walking this direction as going east to west, the normal path?
As for the Voie de Nive camino which links Bayonne and SJPdP

...than even chance of earning a third candle on its birthday cake. So I thought it advisable to follow up my completion of the VoieNiveBidassoa with a few days spent in making inroads on the Norte. I have to be back at work soon, but if I can get anywhere west of Bilbao on this occasion, I'll...
In 2018, continuing our walk from Geneva to SdC, we too, walked the VoieNive-Bidassoa.
The staff at the Pilgrims Office have a detailed fact sheet with maps. I had found the information previously here...
...small change of plan is in order. The GR 10 not being suitable for winter travel, I'm going to try the low-level alternative, the VoieNiveBidassoa, and pick up the Norte at its starting-point as previously intended.
I'm also coming a little better equipped than I was on the last section of...
Looking forward to picking your book I ordered….it awaits me at the Shakespeare and Company bookstore in Paris (spending a few days there before beginning my walk on Aug. 7th). The store was wonderful in ordering the book for me, as it would not have arrived in Canada prior to my departure...
As well, there are at least twenty accommodations listed in the GR10 section between StJPP and Irun ... you might care to check out the details here ...
