    Apologies for snark

There is no reason, good or bad, for such commentary. However, the number of members who chose to like the post by @Walkerooni speaks volumes. A sage in my teenage years appeared in the guise of Bob Dylan: "you can please all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time...

Jesus and Abraham Trails in Israel

...just a line across map; while crossing timeless landscapes it most importantly may symbolize shared hope for the future. Such is the Abraham path crossing Israel and Palestine as described is this earlier but still poignant/relevant Guardian article...

"Travels with a stick" by Richard Frazer

I don't know if Richard's book details this. But he had a story that I tell often. I'm sure to slightly mix it up, it was 2012 when we hiked. We ended up at Granon, singing for our bread, I was made to sing "Bye Bye Miss American Pie" in the streets... I'm not totally certain when this story...

    Today's New Mexico Camino

April 24, 2020 Today I riffed on the historical connections between Spain and New Mexico in all sorts of ways. Most of the day I hiked along one of the oldest acequias (water ditches) in Albuquerque, right next to the original, ancient route of the Camino Real; now Edith Blvd. NW El Camino Real...

Giving away my guidebook on the Israel National Trail

Yes. It is still a work in progress, I believe. See Abraham Path. Very worthwhile. The Neve Shalom Community in Israel has a similar ethos. Bob m

"Travels with a stick" by Richard Frazer

Anyone who has walked the Camino will immediately identify and sympathise with Richard Frazer as he tells the story of his journey from Le Puy to Santiago. "I hobbled into La Ferme du Barry (…) a defeated man. Only three days into my pilgrimage from Le Puy-en-Velay to Santiago de Compostela, I...

    Walking to Jerusalem

Hi! You could try asking on Facebook, I know of two groups that may help: - Jerusalem Way Started by Johannes Aschauer who’s done some extensive walking in Israel ( from Germany to Jerusalem and other routes). I read his book but have forgotten the exact details.... He may have some up-to-date...

    Walking to Jerusalem

...to Jerusalem in late october. Looking on the web and reading an italian guide, i’ve discovered the Masar Ibrahim Al-Khalil, part of the Abraham Path, and that, in some part, it overlaps an italian idea for a trail called “il Sentiero del Discepolo” and that goes from Nazareth to Jerusalem...

    The ancient path through Palestina

...the West Bank from the city of Jenin in the north to the city of Hebron in the south, the Masar Ibrahim is part of a wider project, the Abraham Path, a long-distance trekking trail celebrating the route taken through the Middle East by the man held by some as the father of Arabs and Jews...

    Masar Ibrahim Al-Khalil, Palestine

May I draw attention to the fact, that this a very general post and for instance the Urfa region is in Eastern Turkey and not in Palestine at all! However, yes, modest dress is in general appreciated when on the Path in Palestine. For general information about walking the Masar Ibrahim as a...

    Masar Ibrahim Al-Khalil, Palestine

From the FAQ's: Can I walk the path alone as a woman? We do not recommend that women walk the Abraham Path alone. While the countries the trail crosses are safe for tourists, harassment of women does sometimes occur. In many local cultures it is inappropriate for women to walk alone, and this...

    Masar Ibrahim Al-Khalil, Palestine

...However they face many challenges in promoting it given the political situation in the middle east. This route is part of the 2000kms Abraham Path. The "parent" website gives answers to the questions raised: http://abrahampath.org I'd draw particular attention to the safety warning and...
