I'm at the tail end of my Camino Portuguese and I had my backpack transported from Villanova de Arousa to a Pension in O Areal this morning. On arriving at the accommodation I discovered 3 items missing from the bottom compartment of my bag - the zip was undone and nothing in there. The company...
I used these Flare ear plugs when I did my Camino in 2019. They broke within the first few days. The company were good enough to refund the cost to me, once I sent photographs. For my next Camino in May this year I will use the wax earplugs.
I have the Dueter 34L which I used on my last Camino and will use it again in May for my 2nd Camino. I love everything about it - air flow, hip pockets etc, but mostly the comfort. I have a fairly long torso and it's perfect for me. I tried various brands before buying, but as most people have...
Thank you! When I did the Primitivo I took my top and bottom thermal set + my thermolite + my silk liner. I only used the thermals a couple of times. I'm considering that combo again as it would save me roughly 200g in weight.
My pack weighed roughly 7kg when I did the Primitivo in 2019, without my sleeping bag. I'm planning on taking pretty much the same items this time. I don't think I can leave anything out 😩
Thank you. Gosh, I do realise that it's really up to me, as most of the comments imply. My sleeping bag weighs 600g which is why I'd rather leave it behind😅. But now I'm rethinking that.......
Sleeping bag or thermolite liner±silk liner ? I'll be leaving Porto on May 8 to walk the coastal/central/spiritual route to Santiago. And then on to Finisterre/Muxia/Santiago. I'm undecided about taking my sleeping bag. I walked the Camino Primitivo in Sept 2019 and didn't take a sleeping bag on...
Thank you! It's good to hear directly from a person who has experienced walking directly out of Porto, on the central route, finding it agreeable. More to think about..... 🙏🏼
Thank you for this info. I had heard about busy narrow roads, no shoulder etc so I'm guessing that's leaving Porto on the central route.. I'll look into leaving Porto via the coastal route. Thanks again!
Thank you! I'll look into that 🙏🏼

Hello, I'm planning to walk the Camino Portuguese in May this year, starting in Porto. I've been told that there is a lot of road walking, which I would prefer to avoid. It's been suggested that if I combine various routes, this can be mostly avoided. My question - can anyone please advise me on...
I'm at the tail end (4 days left) of walking the Camino Primitivo from Oviedo and absolutely love the Buen Camino app on my Samsung Android phone. It has been a huge help in every area - highly recommend it!
