Hi fellow pilgrims,
After a compulsory break of 2 years due to... well, we all know... I might be able to do another Camino in October. Hopefully things will be really opening up by then! Living in Germany makes travelling to Spain/Portugal relatively easy and
being fully vaccinated and...
Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if there is a guidebook for this route?
I know one can follow the blue arrows from Porto, but I would love to have something on paper too.
Maybe someone has walked this way and would like to share some information about the distances and places to sleep. Carrying...
I wonder what it's going to be like in 2021, regarding post-covid 19. The albergues municipal usually don't take reservations, but maybe that will change in the holy year 2021? Just asking for smaller albergues like Veigadana and Portela (after Pontevedra).

What a lovely idea, thank you so much!
Greetings from rural Germany 🙋♀️
We have a (minor) curfew too, but we can still go out for long (though solitary) walks in the hills.
Hope you are all safe & healthy.
Has anybody visited this waterfall? Is it worth a detour and if so, how far away is it from the city centre (i.e. from the park along the river)? Is it easy to get there?
Thanks in advance.
Highly recommanded between Santa Irene and Pedrouzo:
Albergue Rural Astrar
Albergue Espiritu Xacobeo
About 2 / 1.5 Km before Pedrouzo, if you don't mind the extra Km the next day.
...Put a closed fence around it and you could call it a prison. If that is the visiting card just in front of the "gate" to Santiago, it's a bl**dy disgrace.
Maybe they are preparing the area for the next holy year? But all those poor pilgrims will have to wait till 20121 for a little bit of...
...in 2009/2011 while walking the CdN. The famous german yellow guide was sufficient for my 5 CP's.
I wrote them a mail and they promptly answered:
* it's possible to make a reservation, which suits me well since I'm going to be a very slow walker this time
* they offer a cena comunitaria for...
Can somebody tell me if there is a bar/restaurant in RdA, to get a decent evening meal? Or even better: perhaps a communal cena in the albergue municipal?
A tienda would also work, but I'm a lousy (and lazy) cook.
Have a nice day 🤗
The first and probably most important lesson I learned from this adventure: never go on a Camino like this with a completely unexperienced coworker!
Ordering meals, asking for the bills, calling a cab, getting the stamps, organizing the Compostelas, getting our group checked in at the hostels...
Hi folks!
Thank you for your prayers and all the positive vibes you sent us. It really was a hell of job.
Three days before our departure one of the kids got sick, or maybe she just got "cold feet" as we say in NL. Since she was the one with severe anorexia, I guess it was meant to be that...
Countless questions asked by the kids and my co-worker, even more checklists on my kitchentable, a few sentences for a local newspaper, all the things that cross my mind just before I fall asleep, last minute recipes for their daily medication, our boss wanting a plan B to K in case of the...
It will be a much bigger problem to keep all of them awake till after dinner ;)
They are not used to any walking distances, so even these shorter stages will be a huge challenge. And the overdose of fresh air will definately make them groggy by bedtime.
As far as possible I booked safe spaces...
:):):)
We're starting in Porto on Monday Sept. 24. Seeing the sights in a city doesn't make the kids happy, and apart from that they are really exited & nervous, so it seemed a better idea to hit the road immediately. If all goes well we'll arrive in SdC on Oct. 11.
