I love the oak forests in Galicia...
Hey and I've got almost exactly the same photo of the road to El Burgo Ranero, except that when I did it the rain lashed down. It looks strange with sun and blue sky.
I'm gonna have to do the camino again, y'know.
Happy New Year to everyone on this site.
You have given me pleasure and inspiriation in equal measure.
I'm proud to have done my camino this year. I'll definitely be back for more.
Good luck, health and happiness to you all - especially those who walked their Camino this year and those...
In April, all things are possible.
You could get everything from snow to warm sunshine to fog, with the possibility of a great deal of rain too.
Be prepared for anything/everything.
Sensible posts from Sil and Kuba. It's not a race. Take your time and enjoy it.
It doesn't matter whether it takes 26, 27, 28 or 38 days. What matters is the experience.
When I do the Camino Frances again I hope it takes me 42 days.
My name is a bit of a silly story too...
I was on kibbutz, a lo-o-ong time ago, and the German speaking people there couldn't say my real name, Keith. The nearest they could get was Keit or Keet. One day written on the daily worksheet was the legend, Kite. How we laughed. Well, the name stuck...

Nice one Rambler, I like this game. Here's my top five.
1 Tim Moore's 'Spanish Steps: Travels with my donkey'. (Simply the best book about the camino...very, very funny, warm and compelling)
2 'The Cockleshell Pilgrim' (an excellent little book about a medieval pilgrimage)
3 'Pilgrimage to...
I walked all through May this year. I had great weather for maybe a week, and it rained almost continually for three weeks. And the final day was torrential. It absolutely bucketed it down.
We drove to Finisterre the next day and the sun came out for us.
I wouldn't have changed a minute of it...
That's really lovely, Annette.
I did my first camino this year. I can't wait to do my second, third and fourth.
I can understand already how different they'll all be and I can't wait.
Welcome home. Have a safe landing and start planning again soon.
If you fancy a bit of luxury, and who doesn't from time to time,
I can recommend
La Cachara in Castrojeriz and
the Albergueria del Camino in Mansilla de las Mulas.
The only problem I had with dogs was trying to get rid of a particularly friendly little mutt who decided to befriend and walk with me near Castrojeriz. He eventually sauntered off in the opposite direction.
To read some of the posts on here you'd think there were packs of wild dogs round every...
