Has anyone found a spreadsheet planning tool to plan stages for Camino Portugues. I am not sure yet which route I will take but likely to be a mixture. I used one for the Camino Francais which was great in planning stages and distances but cannot find anything similar for the Portuguese route...
Well as I reported I found it a little lonely also on the Norte, and can’t imagine it will get any busier now. CAnt comment what it will be like on the Primitivo. As regards to Albergues I think of the ones that are still open are likely to remain open through to end October, but your choices...
Yeh I think that’s the way it is now, I’m surprised. As a solo traveller I Have spent a few days walking on my own, though in evening have normally found people to hang out with.
Have noticed in the last few days how much quieter the Norte is now than the first half of the route. In the last few days I am seeing no more than 1-2 walkers during the day, and in hostels sometimes it has been no more than 3-4 people in 30 bed hostels. Is this people heading off to Primativo...
Hope your Camino going well. Not sure where you have been/ are staying in next few days but from what I’ve seen last few days I thought San Vincente, Llanes, and Ribadesella are particularly worth spending time in if you can. Hope all going well. I have been pushing myself too hard with...
Apologies I only just saw your reply. I was too busy last night immersing myself in the beauty of Santillana del Mar. Had a good few hours exploring and walking up and down. I’m next in San Vicente de La Barquera. We may meet along the way as I say hi to everybody! Buen Camino and hope you’re...
I’m in my second week on the CDN and am pleasantly surprised by the consistent good weather we’re having. Last week around Deba and Bilbao I had 2 wet days which made walking on paths tricky and slippy but since then and for the foreseeable the forecast is good and on some days has been a little...
I’m flying out to Biarritz today on the 1pm and interested in a car share to Hendaye if anyone else also flying out today? Please reply or message if any interest
I see you’ve got the very same Chaco sandals that I have bought specifically for this trip, that gives me a lot of reassurance as I’m still testing them out. Been wearing them a couple of weeks. Took a while to get the strapping in the right places ( and had a toe rub) but think they’re right...
I am bringing my hiking sandals with me for my walk as well as my hiking shoes, do you think the route on your leg from Irun would be too muddy for me to consider my sandals and should I stick to hiking shoes?
Will be watching your posts with interest as you will be a couple of days in front of me. Will be interested in any posts on your accommodation choices. Let’s hope we won’t get too much rain. Good luck with yours
