...paths, there were enough stones/rocks to allow us to avoid getting completely wet.Galicia is wet, green, and beautiful. We are hoping the weather might clear a bit in a day or two so we can walk the last couple of days into Santiago de Compostela in dry conditions. I've posted a few photos...
...myself to be here and experience it on its own terms but perhaps it's inevitable that I can't help but draw comparisons between the two. Weather forecast for tomorrow is looking sunnier though (after some predicted showers in the morning) and I'm ready for more sunshine so here's hoping for that!
...couple running it, clean, nice dinner and breakfast, garden. And that village is the cutest and most charming I've seen.
So lucky with the weather, perfect temperatures, no rain or wind. Nice walk, but really hard time the very muddy parts last 5km before Campomanes. The awful last decent...
Vilar de Barrio - Xunqueira de Ambía (15)
A short stage. But with this cold and rainy weather that wasn't such a bad idea. It's the combination: rain, temperatures of 10-13 degrees and hardly any options to take a break. I had one in a bus stop. In shorts, as I packed for a bit warmer weather...
...and try the Via Podiensis.
As most people probably are aware April was a month of rain and sometimes snow! But when I was watching the weather ahead of time, I reminded myself I don't go on Camino to be comfortable. I go for the challenge, the adventure and the journey. And I'm so glad I...
I hiked the Portuguese coastal route from Porto to Santiago, including Senda Litoral, last year Sept 21-Oct 7. Was a great time to hike. The weather was good but unseasonably warm then. Bom Camiño!
...Litoral last year. Because we also needed secure bike storage, we booked all accommodations ahead. It was busy, but not overwhelming. The weather was really good, except for one significant rain shower from Vila do Conde into Povoa de Varzim.....some cloudy days, some sunny days, but...
I walked from SJPDP to SDC from August 24, 2022 to September 30, 2024. The weather was very good, I don’t remember any crowds until Saria. Obviously, weather and crowds can be a day by day issue over which you have no control. But, based upon my experience, September should be a “go”.
...ready to roll and roam.
Now that I am that much older, I am learning to spend time relishing Spain plus having a reduced bavkpack.
The weather is perfect.
I am on the 08.00 Cercania from the North Station to Sagunt/Sagunto.
OhI forgot… My Capsule Inn Valencia is on Sant Vincert Martir which...
...resumed our Camino at Rabanal del Camino and walked to Acebo. We encountered Snow, Hail Stones and rain. We loved it!!
Thank you for the advice on the treacherous path to Acebo in inclement weather!
We took the road option from the magnificent Cruz de Ferro...wonderful views. Mimpete..with lovex
...through Granja 10 days ago, I continued to Astorga as my heart was set on San Salvador. Aragones will certainly happen but another day. Plus, I like the suggestion of starting in Oloron. As I have some flexibility, I would rather enjoy the mountain stages with good weather to enjoy the views.
I’ve been walking for two weeks from Bilbao. It’s rained probably 1/3 of those days. On the days it did rain, it lasted from minutes to hours. It’s weather - hard to predict what you are going to get.
If you don't mind hotter weather, starting in August is less busy than waiting until the beginning of September. I started my first Camino on August 21, and never had a problem getting a bed. That was 8 years ago, but I believe that August is still much less busy than the first two weeks of...
I walked this route in September 2 years ago. The weather was great but hot in a few stretches across the Meseta. Around Foncebadon I bought some inexpensive gloves but wore shorts the entire Camino. Only a couple of days of rain with mist nearing the end.
Booked 3-4 days out then.
I'm...
...as this is a popular start point for those who do the minimum distance to qualify for a Compostela.
You'll have a great time ( I know I did!)
Weather was warm - only caught rain on one day on the way to Pontevedra. This by no means guarantees you the same weather experience. This area is...
I walked the CF in the August/September time frame. All sorts of weather. Never had a problem finding accommodations. You just may have to book one-two days in advance.
