...right after you on the 11th, but we will likely not meet. I think though you were the Scot on Reddit I have to thank for reminding me of SanFermin. As a result I have made plans appropriately and booked a hotel weeks ago for when I get to Pamplona on the 14th. Thanks for that! The festival...
...pasted a long list below from a generic Spanish holiday site, but i only recall Easter, Feast of St James, and May 1 European Labor day, SanFermin July 7 week in Pamplona as times to look out for.
I'm especially interested in any holidays that would affect any bottlenecks, including St...
...I stay at this night, right now, 8:30pm, and apparently they got a bed.
I once had to get a lift from Pamplona to Puente La Reina during SanFermines - stupidity on my part. Could have gotten a bed in Zubiri but decided to walk on for a long day... That was truly bad planning on my part...
I’m arriving at the airport and put a $23 deposit down on Delcar service- did you already pay? If not , I can inquire about how far the train station is from airport?
Hi Karan
I am arriving by train from Barcelona scheduled for arrival at 13:05 April 22nd, so timing works.
Are you arriving by train?
I would share a taxi - placed a reservation with Teletaxi SanFermin a few weeks back and indicated I was willing to share the taxi.

Thank you very much for the mention of SanFermin. I totally forgot about it, though I went to see it when I was a young backpacker(ages ago!) and had to sleep in a park with a lot of other people who couldn't get the accommodation.
So I decided to leave home on June 14 and go straight to...
Try to avoid SanFermin in early July in Pamplona if you can. Costs go up tremendously for lodging. The bus station and bar/coffee shop across the street were particularly busy during that week 2 years ago.
...of plans.
Only once I had to add a few kms after Triacastela, and once had to take transport from Pamplona to Puente La Reina during SanFermin due to extremely bad planning on my part. In Puente la Reina the albergue was almost empty!
In an absolute worst case scenario, you can always walk...
I remember when I walked the Aragonés years ago, we stopped in the Tiebas albergue to look around. The hospitalero told us he was happy to let pilgrims spend a few days there and bus in and out to the San Fermín fiestas. He told us there were regular buses because Tiebas is sort of a “bedroom...
Sometimes they will add buses if the line is popular. Not sure about this particular route though. In 2022 we went to San Sebastian from Pamplona during SanFermin and there were 6 buses going to San Sebastian at the same time instead of just one.
...it in summer (june/july/august) three times ('17, '19, '22). Never really had an issue getting a bed, apart from the Pamplona area during SanFermin festival, but that won't be an issue for you in june. Once I had to walk +5km because Triacastela was full when I arrived. That's it.
Apart...
...one is in Puenta la Reina for the running of the bulls. One I try to avoid is the Saint Peter and Paul event in Burgos which is much like SanFermin. It lasts well into the morning hours and the streets are littered with trash, broken bottle and comatose revelers at dawn when you try to...
...banks of the Arga (and near the Arena). I don't know, if they accept reservations nowadays.
I passed through Pamplona a week prior to the SanFermines in 2019 and they set up all Bullwalls and the cables, cameraposts and TV equipment, many shops were boarding up that day.
Just contact the...
...albergue, on our last day into Puente la Reina where it joins the Francés. The hospitalero told us that they will let pilgrims spend two nights there during SanFermines. Info on the albergue here. Tiebas is about 15 km from Pamplona and has regular and very frequent bus service into Pamplona.
Thanks for the Albergue San Andrés suggestion, I will look into that. Appreciate your help! 🙂
We have been to Pamplona the day after San Fermín ended…everyone looked absolutely exhausted lol 😆
I did find a bus that would take us to Obanos or PLR from Pamplona for about €3, and you can...
...much more quiet before. I've walked several times in summer from St. Jean and never had an issue getting a bed (just avoid Pamplona during SanFermin).
You still have a lot of time to do more research. Maybe you'll find out that there's less to worry about than you think :)
Wish you two all...
Yes indeed! I attended in 2022 and my friend and I actually ran! It quite nerve wracking (I am not the particularly brave type!). Saw a few people get hurt but not too serious!
It’s a total 24 hrs event! I arrived off the night bus from Valencia at 0700 and whilst walking to hotel there were...
That is not exact. Galicia is one of the less bull fighting regions, it has only 1 plaza and has 5 bulls. Navarra has 4 plazas (and SanFermines) and has 0 bulls.
