I left a special memory there in the shape of a laminated photograph which I secreted within the cross in the hope that it would remain there in July 2006.
In January 2009 I passed that way again, in the snow and was intrguiged to see if it was still there?
Not to be, it had gone. I had not...
If you get off the stop before Lugo you will find it is Sarria?
Otherwise you could always walk from Lugo to Santiago away from the crowds unless you really want to do the Francès?
This is totally amazing but I have just watched the film 'THE SECRET' went on Facebook and saw a
post from Ivar linking to this thread. I went on it and was the very issue that The Secret had been dealing with. Watch it, awesome. You will quickly realise how negative fear is.
Hola
I am in O Cebreiro, in the snow. Right the real big problem is that MANY albergues are closed and some of the information given turns out to be incorrect.
We got to El Acebo after the ascent to Foncedbadon to find it closed. We had struggled in snow drifts, all energy spent to find all...
Hi
I did the one via Samos Monastery which I believe is a bit longer than the other. Probably a bit muddy this time of year.
Perhaps someone can comment on the other?

Hola Crazyhorse
I was in Santiago on Feb 15 with my girlfriend and we met a Polish student from Toulouse university arriving in Santiago who had set off from SJPP with the bare minimum. Even his suede shoes did not capable of doing the walk but he did it! Through snow and rain. He said he...
hang on in there

Does not sound much different from April!
I remember that mud so well, wading, slipping in a quagmire. It dampens the spirits somewhat! I really don't think I could do that again.
Hopefully it will get better. If it is any consolation we have had constant rain...
SYMBOLS IN THE SKY
Thanks for that post. I know exactly what you mean. Here is an extract from my diary, last June in Vézelay;
We walked, our days marked by gentle conversation and prayer, gradually approaching our pilgrimage destination of Vézelay. At the foot of the steep hill on which...
grim outskirts
As Minkey says you take the rough with the smooth on the Way.
Surely it is the time to use the other beautiful experience of the Camino and engage in conversation with a fellow pilgrim, when you meet someone really interesting you can get so lost in listening to their life...
recommendations
Hola
I stayed last July at Itero del Castillo at the Hermitage Hospital San Nicolas which was nice.
I believe Boadilla del Camino is good as it has a pool (60 km west of Burgos)
I've just got back from Fromista to Leon and I will recommend the good places I stayed...
I wish I only had the time. I am so short of leave I had to come straight to work off an overnight train to Paris from Spain and a TGV to Calais.
If I had that time I would once more do the 764 km from Saint Jean Pied de Port to Santiago in one hit to get the continuity and rhythm of the...

It is on the left just before the restaurant, which was really good too. Mixed salad, calamares, flan and a bottle of wine €8.50 with a really nice frieze painted on the wall of the camino.
The municiple Albergue is on the right after the crossroads...
pilgrimage for charity completed
Got back yesterday from my final stage of the Camino Francès.
I went to the same sports shop in Sahagún where I purchased trainers last July. I showed the assistant them and said I had walked in them to Santiago and then SJPP back to Sahagún. She was very...
it is busy
met an american women returning her donkey, could have sworn I put a posting about this but it has disappeared! She said she could not believe the amount of pilgrims she saw, there are many many germans and dutch too. I was sat in the garden here in San Nicolas Real Camino writing...
cool breezes, rain
I am in Carrion de los Condes. I have left an English summer and come to unsettled cool weather. 2 things I did not need to pack- shorts and sun block. I must be cursed with bad weather in Spain. Since Easter every day in England has been very very warm and sunny. It is...
I have now completed the whole Francès route from SJPP to Santiago with one exception.
Last July I arrived at Sahagún with painful tendon problems and footwear that had to be replaced.
After purchasing new shoes I took the train to León to spend some meditative and contemplation time in...
i stayed there last July
Hola
I stayed there last July and it seemed fine. There was just one Spanish guy there and we had a pleasent meal of garlic soup served wine.
However the treatment of these Pilgrims is deplorable, a disgrace. It goes against the whole ethic of respect and...
don't do the taxi, walk
Fiddletree,
Some of the scenery is stunning walking to Roncesvalles. Don't be put off, it is part of the Camino, part of the experience.
I really don't understand why it took Santos so long to get from SJPP to Roncesvalles? Just follow the arrows!
I left at...
don't be put off
Guys
There are 2 routes from SJPP. Just heed the advice of staff who issue the pilgrims passport at SJPP.
When you climb the summit just make sure you have plenty of water and supplies, fruit, chocolate.
Be prepared, I hit some of the worst weather to be experienced...
Viana
Hola
Very tired but got here from Vilamayor, around 30km. Weather better but it was snowing last night.
When I got to Los Arcos I read with sadness in a newspaper in a bar about the British Pilgrim. I just about worked out the jist of it. It brought home to me how it is a serious...
