Looking forward to getting back on the Camino de Levante next week. It’s a long and solitary Camino, although I am as far as Zamora now, where it merged with the VDLP and on to the Sanabres.
Here are some photos from my journey so far.

I am so familiar with that website. I use it all the time. But the highlights that I have flagged in my earlier post have not been captured by the Associación de Amigos del Camino de Santiago de la Comunidad Valencia. I have huge respect for the association, but developments take place...
I have just returned from another 350klm section of the Camino de Levante from Valencia and I am close to Avila. I will go back again in October and get through Zamora. I have a few observations about the Levante.
The first is the almost complete isolation. I am walking it alone and I am very...
Hi Sharon. Looking at your profile, you obviously have a lot of experience walking the Camino I am going back to continue the Levante in April. I have 300 klm completed and looking forward to continuing this year. The two things that I would mention about the Levante is that it is a very quiet...
Just a small deviation here to acknowledge one of our fellow pilgrims. Ella Anderson posted on Facebook's "Camino de Santiago 2020/2021" yesterday about being heart broken at the sudden and tragic death of her partner in Burgos while on the Camino from SJPD to Santiago. She said that it was with...
Stayed in La Posada de Chinchilla last October and I have to say that, apart from it being so beautiful and elegant, the owners there, a young Spanish couple, were so helpful and friendly. And Chinchilla itself is certainly very quaint.
Stayed in Hostel la Posada last June. It's fine, but the cafe might not be open too early in the morning before you leave. However, there is another cafe down the hill from La Posada and turn right. This will be open early in the morning.
This is the point where you have to make a decision, stay on the Levante and cover the full 40 klm to Higueruela, or divert on the Camino de la Lana to Alpera, considerably shorter on the day. I stayed with the Levante, having thought about it for quite a while, and I was walking into a strong...
Visited Xàtiva on June 2nd last year while on the Levante, a beautiful place and stayed in Casa Aldomar which was quaint and gorgeous with an interior courtyard. Really worth spending some time here.
Would like to join this journey also. I started the Levante last year and have 300 elm completed. Was due to go back this April but....................hopefully, in 2021.
Hi again, planning my next section of the Camino de Levante, continuing in April from Casas de Los Pinos. So, I am doing some homework in the route especially through many towns and villages that I will pass through on my next visit.
Some of you will have noticed that I posted an interesting...
This is also an excllent website with all the stages, the profile of each stage, shops and services and accommodation along the way. Note that you can change the language at the top, although you might need to do that frequently...
Almansa to Higueruela is a long stretch in the early stages of this Camino, at least 38 klm. However, after about 15 klm, you can divert to Alpera which is only about another 5 klm, reducing the walk from 38 klm to 21 klm. There is some accommodation in Alpera. Then, Alpera to Higueruela is...
Hi Donna. Good to see that you are making steady progress. Can I ask you if, based on your experience, a sleeping bag is necessary on this Camino or do the hostels provide adequate bed clothing? Trying to plan for my visit in May.
