My Packing List ... do your worst

Because I over prepare. I plan on carrying most of my food along the way and only buy dinner, maybe. I hate wasting food, and I know that some things only come in large packages. For example a box of 10 packets of instant oatmeal in the US weighs in at about 13 oz. Then if I include a snacks...

My Packing List ... do your worst

I love the Trail 40 for plane travel especially. I picked up a frogg toggs ultraight 2 rain jacket. Weights in at 5.5oz. I hope it will be all I need. I hope I won't have to buy something else in Spain. Thanks!

My Packing List ... do your worst

That's a good idea about bulk. I found myself using this more than my water bottles last time. It was easier for me to just take my cup out and drink at the fountains then move on. Also, was very handy at the albergues that did not have pots or pans. Doubled as a pot for boiling water...

My Packing List ... do your worst

Hello Camino Friends! I fly out on Tuesday, and I think I have it all just about settled. I'm just a hair under 20 pounds (9kg). I weight 200 pounds (90.7kg), so I meet the 10% recommendation. However, I am still wanting to lighten my load. Any sugestions? Also, these are the things in my...

    "Sizing Up" in Shoes??

The sizing up is to account for socks, foot swelling, and any down hill grades you might do. Half to a whole size is typical, or about a thumb's width from big toe to end of the shoe. I have the problem that I am a 12.5 in US size. Most shoes don't come in a 13.5 and most 13s aren't long...

We Leave Tomorrow - I think I need a bigger Pack!

Can you use walking sticks as a kind of roller? I roll out my IT band about every day. I plan on using my walking poles as a kind of roller.

Lightload Towel, has anyone used one?

I use one of these every day. Twice as heavy as my original packtowl. If I were not carrying everything on my back everyday, I'd pack that towel.

Lightload Towel, has anyone used one?

Ran across these Lightload Towels on Amazon and I am intrigued by them. Has anyone used them? I typically use an Original Packtowl that I like. But These intrigue me becuase of the price.

Cost of Treking Poles in SJPdP?

Thanks for the tip. I do remember the grade changes from last time, but the worse for me was week one. I could have tossed the poles aside during week 2. Kept them and did find them helpful, especially after I broke my foot. So, I'm a fan of Treking Poles.

Cost of Treking Poles in SJPdP?

I'd most want them for the ascent and descent over the Pyrenees. Just don't want to drop 70+ euro when I get to SJPdP when I can just check my Poles and pay 50 USD round trip.

Cost of Treking Poles in SJPdP?

Thanks all for the tips. Looks like I'll leave my good poles home, carry on my bag and get some Poles when I get to Europe. I do find using poles to be very helpful with my bad knee and back.

Cost of Treking Poles in SJPdP?

Trying to decide to check my bag with Poles or just carry on and grab some Poles when I get to Europe. My Poles are some decent carbon fiber. I understand it will cost about $25 usd to check my bags in each directions. Can I get a pair of aluminum Poles SJPdP in the $50 range?

What brand shoe did you use? I'm looking at some mostly mesh Solomon's.
