What about a pair of dark espadrilles? Super comfy, of the region, barely noticeable in weight. Can be dressed way up or way down: Michelin star and/or slip-ons for the bathroom.
Howdy Lauren,
Since you asked...
One of the best things you've done is ask for support and now that you've done that you have all these strangers in your corner. If somehow you can be accountable then your chances of success skyrocket (I'm thinking Camino friends on Strava or Garmin, American...
At the risk of sounding super dumb - what's a GR footpath?
I'm highly motivated by picturesque!
A bit of a bummer there are no Camino sources, but I'm a big girl and so many of you have gone before me and done it, so I'm hopeful I will too.
Thats great. Thanks. The work you did putting it together is so appreciated and I know that once I arrive it will all make more sense. I suppose as long as I'm walking west for a month I'm going the right direction!
I thought I was a one and done-er with the Camino Frances last year, alas, nope. Camino del Norte has beckoned my sweetheart’s corazón so we’ve set aside February 2024 for this route.
Perusing the threads on the topic I spied one from @peregrina2000 from 2007 - 2021 regarding keeping off...
Two suggestions 1. ROKA - these would be a treat. You can decide what type you like/need via their website. What is important for me is that my sunglasses stay-put. ROKA's are made for athletic pursuits so they are made for performance and therefore can take a bit of a beating. The major bonus...
Super advice and not just because I was going to suggest it.
If you need at a minimum 4mm drop then padded socks just may get you there and then Altra isn't out of the running. Wedge inserts are incredibly comfortable and a real life saver for those who's achilles can't take the 0 drop. Norda...
Howdy Frank,
My first and only Camino was last year in October/November via SJPP and although I have nothing to compare it to I had zero issues with coffee, stores, food, accommodations, meeting others. It was as fantastic an experience as I could have ever dreamed. I played with "the Camino...
I completed the Frances last year and did not register. In my mind it took away from what I wanted to do which was to walk in contemplation, meet some folks along the way and be open to any transformation. I’m not a Christian so I thought it would be silly for me.
For me the issue isn't how many camino's one walks, or that one could walk another for a different experience and therefor another opportunity for a picture of the botafumeiro, but the the essence of the moment itself captured in the living memory without the visual static of the people holding...
How many times have I been shown "Here's a picture... it really doesn't do it justice... you really had to be there..."
or some variation of that? Sometimes you have to be there.
In the scheme of things it's not a big deal, but for the sake of the thread and to learn about how others view the...
Sure I could be wrong but I heard it with my lying ears. Enforced? I know for certain it wasn't because I sat next to a lovely older woman who hadn't seen a pair of hiking boots in a number of years.
