Good day all.
Bradypus, I see you went to Japan in May. My husband and I plan on trekking the 88 Temples in April and May of 2020. What was your weather like? and did you have a problem with the end of April, "Golden Week" festival, finding accommodations? Were accommodations hard to come by...
thank you all for your replies.
I recently read a review on the book "The Salt Path" and borrowed it from my library. The book is the reason for us wanting to walk this path! I agree with you Margaret, that it was gripping and such an adventure.
Alipilgrim, I will open that blog and see...
Good day Pilgrims
my husband and I completed the CF in 2017. We did a portion of the Via Francigena in 2018
We are now looking at starting the South West Coast Path in England. I understand it is not a pilgrimage, but it looks so beautiful and enchanting and would seem to think it would be a...
Good afternoon pilgrims, my husband and I are walking the Via Francigena at this time. The trail is muddy, slippery, and very wet! Today is the. First in 7 days that we have seen a pilgrim. We are no longer walking the trail and only roads. Our boots collected about a pound of mud with each...
Yes SS , I did. I also tried the email they have listed on their web site. Both got bounced back. Another pilgrim is going to call the Basilica and let me know .
Thanks,
Jujubery
Good day . My husband and I will be starting the Via Francigena in April. Our starting point will be the city of Piacenza. I read on the VF website that I would be able to obtain my credential from the Basilica of Santa Maria di Campagna in Piacenza. However , when I emailed them, the email was...
Thank you all for your responses. I agree with Karl, I tried to book an Ostello where we plan to pick up our credentials and they were fully booked. So I have followed the advice of kmrice and am looking into the Ostello Bello Grande. Seems convenient and very accommodating .
Good day,
My husband and I will be flying into Milan early April . We will secure our credential in Milan, stay the night and get a train/bus out to Piacenza for the start of our VF. Can anyone recommend a pilgrim accommodation in Milan.
Thank you,
Jujubery
Wow , were you ever correct. We cannot wait to get back on the path! I was so sure I never wanted to walk again, but I yearn for it . Plan to do part of the VF in April. Thank you for your thoughtful, insightful words.

Hi Les,
I hope your walk was everything you hoped it would be. My husband and I have changed our plans and will be walking the Italian section of the VF in April 2018. Would love to talk to you both about your experience and travels.
Are you from the US? If so, a phone conversation would be...
Africa, we have had a change of heart and might do a trek in Italy next year. so , I am sorry, but they are no longer for sale. I am not sure how to take it off the forum
Is that you Jim? My husband and I Met you through out our CF in April? (Chuck and Judy) I know who you are talking about, because we met up with her a few days later. She continued on to Finesterra!
Thanks to all that have written on this thread. We are excited for this trip and I am well aware that this one will be completely different from the CF. That makes it all the more exciting for us!

Wow , this is uncanny. My husband and I finished the Camino Frances in May of 2017 and I am already looking forward to walking again. However, we want to try Italy and I found the Via Francigena after a few key words on the internet. We only want to walk the Italian portion. I don't even know...

My husband and I completed our CF in May 2017 and cannot wait to explore another journey; but this time in Italy. This forum proved invaluable to our prep and trek on the CF and that is why I am reaching out for some direction/guidance to my friends on this forum.
A few clicks...
Hi all,
Not sure if this is something I could/should post, but I am sure you will let me know.
My husband and I just finished the CF. We could not have asked for better weather or a better group of people we met along the way. And although it was the best experience of our lifetime, we will not...
