Thanks Domigee and Kanga. I did start a blog but due to many reasons it stopped after 3 or 4 weeks but I will bring it back to life, for future reference, when I return home. Currently enjoying life in Rome.
Thanks Chris.
Yes I read your blog Bradypuss about your 2015 journey - it was a great help. I have also been reading Tim's blog as he progresses through France (the blog is currently a little behind his actual pace !)
I understand the comparison with the Frances and know it will be a greater...
Last year I completed the Camino Francis pilgrimage from St Jean Pied de Port to Santiago de Compostella and then on to Finisterre. They were both perfect and memorable journeys in everyway.
In just 5 days, on the 1st June, I will be taking that first step out of Canterbury to walk the Via...
I left SJDP on Saturday 6th May last year. SJDP was not at all full and there were not many pilgrims on the way to Orrison where I had pre-booked a bed for the night. The journey to Roncesvalles was again quite lightly populated with pilgrims - I had not booked ahead for a bed at Roncesvalles...
At home I carry a wooden pole when walking which I find useful for reaching out to open inaccesible gates, clearing brambles, stinging nettles etc from overgrown rights of way. It also helped in keeping a pit bull terrier at a distance when I had inadvertantly wandered into its territory and a...
What a wonderful journey for both of you and what a very special son you have and what a very special mum he has ! - Why not complete the Camino Frances next time from St.jean to Astorga ?
I left a few days later than you on the 6th May but arrived the same day as you in Finisterre on the 11th June, so your video is especially memorable for me. There is a point around 16 kilometres from Los Arcos where the path divides into two alternative routes I took the more adventurous left...
Bonjour Madame Scarey
Reading your post cheered my morn :) - it seems you have quite a cosmoplitan support team already - all I can add is to walk at your own pace and rest frequently - a great and wonderful journey ahead of you - so take care and let us know how you progress - Bonne voyage !
I cannot offer any specifice advice other than that which has already been offered but I will be thinking of you both and pray that your mum recovers soon to enable you both to travel safely on to Santiago.
Well David I am not sure for certain if any one knows whether it is true or not - but of all the numerous derivations I have seen - I much prefer this one !
That is wonderful news Emia - I understand the love and skills you need to undertake such a project- so well done ! - what an experience it will be for those " special young ladies" and very rewarding for the two of you.
I guess a writer will receive a range of reviews and should not expect everyone to agree with what you have written. Just look at the range of reviews you find on Amazon and Goodreads - it would be a dull world if we all agreed.
There was a great discussion on this forum a short while ago about...
