SNCF have cancelled a couple of trains from Bayonne to SJPDP on Sunday afternoon/evening and will be running a replacement bus service.
I discovered this on Facebook today where someone made an anxious post about receiving an email from SNCF cancelling their journey from Paris. They were then...
@raycanuck l’m kind of with Don on this. Your question(s) are virtually un-answerable, though @Molly Cassidy has had a go, and dates and route were crucial information that you didn’t provide I’ll offer some suggestions:
Flights; put your outport, destination and dates into Skyscanner and you’ll...
1) Can't help with that - I live in Europe, but I think it's very different transatlantic.
2) About a month before travel (assuming you're sure exactly when you need to travel).
3) You don't need to book this local train, but you will be able to book at least a few weeks in advance if you like...
I was looking at Alsa bus tickets to get from Pamplona to SJPDP. We plan to take 1 carry on bag to send from SJPDP to Ivar. The bus ticket mentions size restrictions for an extra bag, etc.. What are my options to get to SJPDP? Taxi? Car rental? Bus? Train??
The extra bag size mentioned...
There are several choices. Biarritz airport is the closest. Many people fly into Madrid or Paris and take a train and/or bus to SJPdP. The Olympics and Paralympics are in Paris this summer, so that could affect transportation.
A "travel to bayonne/biarritz/sjpp" tag has been added to the top...
My Blessing and I plan to travel to SJPP to start our Camino Frances in Sept. we walked Sarria to Santiago last Sept. yes, we are hooked, Camino obsessed . We are looking for suggestions as to what airport to fly into from Washington , DC, and what is the best way to get to SJPP.
Also, we are...
I’m interested in getting from Paris to SJPP in one day. If I take a train from CDG airport to montparnesse, can I get the train to Bayonne at the same station? Once in Bayonne, I wound get a train to SJPP and stay the night and the next night before walking to Roncesvalles. Is this doable? I’m...
Great suggestion. I believe I will spend a night in Bayonne, yes, on the water in the oxygen, either before or after my camino, as my departure home is again from Paris if my money lasts. Oh, it will, and I have credit cards, lots of those. Life is short, I am older. Perhaps my first three days...
I’m a big fan of traveling by train in Europe. Twice now, I’ve arrived in Paris after an overnight flight from Montreal. Both were early morning arrivals. The first time, with trains already booked, I traveled south to SJPP on the same day I landed in Paris and arrived in SJPP by late afternoon...
Hi,
I'm searching for any transportation ways to to get to sjpp from Biarritz.
Would anyone let me know how to get to? I would like taking bus or train.
Thank you.
Do you mean - if I were repeating the Camino Frances? would I overnight in Dax and walk on the Voie de Tours to St Palais and on to Ostabat joining the Le Puy way and on to SJPP. Or train from Dax to St Palais and then walk on to Ostabat etc. Sure both are options. But not ones I’ve chosen...
Hi, does anyone know a way to go from Pamplona to St Jean Pied de Port? Or is taxi the only option? I took trains from Barcelona, but could not find any buses or trains online. Are there any local buses?
Travelling by train is not as easy and fast as I thought. I'll take the Flixbus on April 20th, and hopefully arrive in Bayonne on April 21st. I'll start my camino in SJPP on monday 22nd.
I was wondering if there is a direct way of getting to SSJP from Madrid. I’m planning a late October to November Camino on the CF and would like to get a round trip plane ticket to and from same city since it’s cheaper. In the past, I've flown from Chicago to Barcelona going and from Madrid...
Hi Guys, I am planning on booking a taxi from Pamplona to Roncesvalles on April 14th around 4 P.M. If you have the destination SJPD that could be arranged as well I think. Anyone interested in sharing?
Hello! I plan to start Frances in mid June and switch to Sanabres in early July (thanks to the many useful information provided by the members).
I found in Rome2Rio a bus from Madrid (Avenida America terminal) to SJPP, but no details such as time, hours, price, company and the means to book...
