Short walk in France - planning

Yes! I am planning right now for May. I asked at a few places if it is useful to make a reservation and if yes, when. There answer: NOW. Some of them are already booked out!! This is crazy stuff! Usually I would just walk...

Historical monthly weather on Chemin Le Puy

Thanx for your advise! Best will be, not to think about to much and believe, that there always will be a bed for me. :) I try to avoid the "common stages", so I think this will also help.

Walking two Caminos on one trip.

I will walk this route starting from Le Puy to Santiago in May 24. Last year I walked from Germany to Lyon and switched to the Norte/Primitivo to Santiago. Yes, the French people don't want to talk English. But its not that big problem. If you learn a few words, they will help you (most of...

@Kitsambler, Now I am really disappointed. ;) Wanted to start early May... but it sounds like - "don't do this". Is it really as bad as it sounds in your post?

Cluny or Vezelay - Recommendation needed

Wow! Thank you very much for so much information! I will check everything out. Your list for accommodations I had already found somewhere, don't know where anymore... My time is limited. I have 2 months and want to reach SJPP. So I have to decide whether Vezelay or Cluny. But I am already pretty...

Cluny or Vezelay - recommendation needed

Sorry for confusing you. Was not my opinion :) And yes, I did in purpose. Why? Because there are people who only read the Cluny-sub-Forum and others only the velezay-sub-forum. If this is not allowed, than I apology for doing this. But however, I think I got my answer. :) Thanks thank you all...

Cluny or Vezelay - recommendation needed

this sounds good to me! As you say, it seems very natural to meet pilgrims more and more slowly. I think that's my road. :)

Cluny or Vezelay - recommendation needed

Starting from Freiburg/Germany to SJPP in June. I tried to find out, which route will be the best for me. But cant find an answer! :)) Due to the aspect that I will be by my own and not speak any French.. I would be very happy for some helpful words. I am curious..

Cluny or Vezelay - Recommendation needed

Thank you very much for your response. I guess the Cluny route also will be quiet. But honestly, walking from Germany will be really quiet. So a little bit of socializing later on is not so bad. :) Is the route mostly flat? Or are there also a few ups and downs - which I would prefer. As you...
