I did both Frances and Primitivo in trail running shoes. (Salomon Speedcross GTX) I walked in April both times. Very little asphalt on the Primitivo. No reason for trekking boots on either of these routes (IMHO).
I always wear trekking socks made of mostly wool.
Remember that your feet will...
No. This is only as far as Melide, you have to add another two days to get to SdC (according to Gronze). So 13 days is the correct answer.
I did it in 14 days last year, including a rest day in Logo (that I did not need).
I have done both Frances (from SJPDP) and Primitivo. Totally different in one way, but also similiar. i would not spend much time worrying about what kind of experience it will be, just put one foot in front of the other - and repeat.
I am sure that if you walked Frances to years in a row also...
First of all, what are you looking for?
If you want less pilegrims and harder, but more beautiful stages, walk the Primitivo. You will do it in the 2 weeks incl one restday in Lugo. After reaching SdC, walk on to Finesterre (4 days).
And; don´t expect it to be like last year. It might be, but...
No. The time you use is the right time for you. I spent 41 days in 2018, including 4 rest days between SJPDP and Santiago and 2 days in Santiago before walking to Finesterre.
I say hello/Buen Camino to most people.
One of my rules on the Camino is to walk my my own tempo, I never compromise with that, no matter how nice or interessting people are. We can chat in the evenings.
I did actually find some great people this time aswell, most people are nice. But is was not a family like in 2018. We stayed in the same albergues, but I walked 80% of the time alone. My choice.
Hi!
I am from Norway. Don´t worry about bears :-D
Expect both rain and sun. Here you can read about this Camino: https://pilegrimsleden.no/en/trails/st-olavsleden
Thank you for all your posts on this "Madeira-Camino". I am really interested in doing this, but I must admit it sounds a bit hard. I did Primitivo in April this year, I found that hard enough. If this is even harder, I really don´t know.
Did you carry all your stuff, or is there any luggage...
