HUZZAH! A good thing you did regardless and with hindsight you can always question everything, but at the time it was righteous. Again I say HUZZAH!

I had 'clipless' pedals for a while, but as a dedicated mountain biker and cyclist, having had a couple of nasty crashes when bike stayed stuck to me, I changed back to pedals and purchased a pair of stealth rubber cycle shoes (stick to the pedal better. Also I purchased 'flat' pedals with studs...
Kit list? I will do the Madrid and have my kit list, it would be good to compare and think. We will wild camp too. I would really appreciate a sense of where you camped especially after Sahagun as this is when we will join the Frances. :D

[ t is very pretty and soft surface and no cars).
Hi,
I was wondering in my planning the stages of the Madrid, just how long it took to walk from Cercedilla over to Segovia? We are trying to sort our stages out at the moment e.g. do we ride Madrid to Cercedilla (1st day) or Madrid -...
Talk to some of the more experienced forum Mardrid members, you will learn a lot very fast.
Hunt through the various files and strings. I've been following the weather for the past two months daily and my understanding is that its going to be hotter than hot in June. Watch your hydration on...
Just touching base with everyone... Its terribly exciting to see so many people committing and so many on their way already.
My group of pilgrims are training in earnest, putting the hours in on the bikes, tweeking bikes and busy auditing, reviewing, trying and buying kit. Our latest purchase...
Having watched the weather across the Madrid and Frances routes for most of April and have made a decision to postpone the pilgrimage until May. This should allow us to travel somewhat lighter and experience less snow, cold or wet nights. So far, May is shaping up weather wise in Spain. :D
I am in the midst of preparing for April 2013. We are currently 4 possibly 5 and we are cycling. 3 of us are family (Father, Son & Grandson), two are almost family (friends). We will be cycling MAdrid through to Muxia and Finisterre. From the outset, although we are all close, we recognised the...
I use my smart phone app. I usually walk or jump off my bike and dive into the brush! I will be cycling and I can see that there are sufficient close to tmy path or within the towns and cities once resting. Have a a wonderous camino and a thoutoughly enjoyable geojourney too.

Hi,
I am not sure how many are aware or take part in geocaching, but I thought it mightbe nice to have a topic on the subject that explores expewrience, finds and related pilgrimage experience. Geocache fits well with pilgrimage (at least in my eyes) as it is very eco friendly and seeks to...
Sorry, a little side tracked! Okay here we go.
Blisters:
I have found that with a proper sock and shoe for the bike, I have never had a blister. Are you using a clipless pedal? I tend to avoid cycle socks and use an ankle sport/tennis sock as it works for walking in too.
Boxing the...
You said you had not done the Camino, and have never used panniers. Perhaps your opinion will evolve as you move from research to actual use.
We have done the Camino Frances twice, 95% on the trails, and our recommendation for anyone who plans on riding the actual trails is to get Arkel...
