My Camino Angels came on my first day on the Camino. I started in Pamplona with the intention of stopping in Cezor Menor. But I got there and it was only 11:30 and I figured I could do the 6.6 to Ziraquegui with no problem. I didn't figure in the almost constant uphill slog the whole way. I was...
Actually things have changed slightly since the above post. I'm still leaving Orlando September 15 late evening (20:20), I'll arrive in Barcelona late on the 16th and then taking the train from. Barcelona to Pamplona September 18 where I will stay the night and start walking from there on the...
Waxing might be futile but it lasts longer than shaving. I might have to get them done again along the way but at least I won't have to take time in the shower shaving every other day.
At after 11 at night I'm not sure if anything is going to be open. Seems the couple restaurants near my hotel that I've looked at online close at midnight. I might just have to pack something like cup of soup and some tea bags and hope I can find a way to heat up water. Or pickup something in...
Thank you for that suggestion but I don't eat fast food especially MacDonalds.
I think a bowl of soup or a sandwich would be what I'm looking for. Or even a cup of tea and a pastry. I have a very long layover in Dublin so I will try and get my main meal of the day in there.
My flight from the U.S. via Dublin doesn't arrive until almost 10 pm (2200). By the time I get to my hotel I will have been traveling for over 24 hours and won't be good for much. I need suggestions for a restaurant or cafe near my hotel where I can get a light bite to eat before going to bed. I...
While I know there's a risk of bags getting lost or misdirected if they are checked, I really dislike carrying/rolling/toting luggage around an airport. So I'm going to trust in the Camino Gods and check my backpack. I just carry my little day pack with my traveling gear in it and my money belt.
Ok, I booked my tickets. I'm flying into Barcelona. I won't get in until late evening on September 16. I'm thinking of staying that night and the next in Barcelona and then heading by bus or/and train to Pamplona and on to Roncevalles on September 18.
Thank you all for all the help.
Is there any way to get a Tarjeta Dorada while still at home in the U.S.? I would like to book my tickets ahead and use the discount if possible. I know this is an older thread but it is what came up when I did a search.
Leaving Orlando, FL on September 15, don't arrive in Barcelona until late on the 16th, so I think I will start from SJPP OR Roncesvalles on the 18th or 19th. If I start in SJPP I plan on walking the Val Carlos route and staying in Val Carlos that first night.
It's about $20-25 more expensive to fly into Paris than Barcelona on Aer Lingus so that's not a big factor. It looks like the flight time is approximately the same.
I've been a forum member for awhile but since the prices I've looked at before for Barcelona have been considerably more than...
I'm looking at some Aer Lingus flights for my September Camino and my options from Orlando are to fly into Paris or Barcelona. I pretty much know how to get from Paris to SJPP but haven't heard any discussion on how to get from Barcelona to SJPP.
So my questions are: 1) which would you choose...
I don't walk until September but am so looking forward to experiencing and sharing my own Camino Angel stories! Thank you Annie for starting this thread. Love and hugs to all of you. Buen Camino!
Donna, I too will be retiring this year, probably the end of August. I will start walking around the middle of September. I have lots of anxiety around retirement and walking the Camino. I'm not going to let that stop me though. :(:D
