    We arrived early at Miraz and were kindly let in by the volunteers David & Carol. We had interrupted their lunch and yet they kindly invited us in for tea. We had a wonderful stay there and it was a highlight of our Norte Camino.

    Having just walked through where they plan to divert the Norte away from I can't understand why. Of all the Norte it was the best marked, had the smallest amount of road walking and had some of the best albergues. Why mess with perfection?

    45 ltr bag for Del Norte route

    I have just finished the Norte with a 38 litre Osprey. I had plenty of room for everything...even extra food. There has been lots of rain and few dryers so bring extra socks and a warm sleeping bag...also a good jacket and poncho.

    I am on the Camino del Norte right now and have found it no trouble to be vegetarian. Vegan is another matter. I don't drink milk but do eat cheese and eggs. I have found soy milk in some shops but have not tried it as I can't finish a litre at a time. There are great salads, lots of fruit...

    I too have just received the Cicerone Guide and am happy with it. I bought the Confraternity books also but they have no maps and I don't do well with just written guide so I won't be packing them. I am planning to walk in September and I really hope the rain has stopped by then as I wasn't...
