Which are the most scenic sections?

I walked from St.-Jean-Piet-de Port to Santiago de Compostela in 2011, 2012 and 2013. I found the first half of the camino most scenic. The Pyrenees were stunning. I also loved the sections from Astorga to Sarria or Portomarin.

European Peace Walk - Anyone starting on the 8th August 2015

I regularly follow info and updates on the EPW Facebook page. But I don't see the calendar form you mention. Could you tell me how or where exactly I find it?

    Etapes from Salamanca

Thanks for your answer! I did CF three times. Last time in 2013. I just saw on Google Earth that the way from Salamanca to El Cubo de tierra del Vino is along a very big highway all the way. Looks like a tiring etape to start. So I think maybe I will start in Zamora.

    Etapes from Salamanca

Thanks a lot! It is my first time on via de la Plata. I can see that on many albergues there are not many beds. Have any of you experienced that the albergue is full when you get there? And if it is, and you are too tired to walk any further, what do you do? To take a taxi would be the last...

    Etapes from Salamanca

I plan to walk from Salamanca to Santiago via Sanabrés. Some of the etapes seem to be very long, up to 40 km. I can walk no more than 25 km a day. Does anyone know if there are albergues and/or pensions between these long etapes, so that I can be sure to avoid having to walk 30-40 km?

    How isolated in September/October?

Thank you, Grace! I´ll read your blog. I´m glad to hear that you didn't have problems with long stretches. That - and the Gronze site - gave me a lot more courage. I'm aware that the VdlP is very different from the CF. I see that the cafés and groceries are few on the VdlP. I'll just carry more...

    How isolated in September/October?

Maybe. Who knows? I'm excited to find out on my way.

    How isolated in September/October?

Yes, you are right. According to the Gronze site (great site) there are albergues or hostals between the long segments. Then I wonder why there is so much talking about the very long walks on the Via de la Plata on this forum. It has kept me from doing it. Till now. I think I'll just buy a...

    How isolated in September/October?

Thanks a lot for the info. 30-37 km. will be more than I can walk. I've been trying to find out if there are any alternative accommodations on these long stretches, but I haven't found any yet. I thought maybe there are some hostels that are not to be found on the internet, i.e. without...

    How isolated in September/October?

I really would like to start from Sevilla, but I wouldn't be able to walk more than 25 km. a day. And I don't like the idea of having to take a taxi. By the way, isn't it still quite hot when you start this month?

    How isolated in September/October?

I walked all the French way 3 times, and I would like to do the half Via de la Plata, from Salamanca or Merida from about The 8'th of September. But I am a bit worried about a few things I've read. 1 - The long stretches between the albergues, without any cafés or places to take a break. I...
