Having emailed Caroline at the email address on the website she confirmed it absolutely possible to haul bicycles from Bayonne to SJPdP sans front wheel though. She is quite responsive to confirm requests/prices and such. There is also a mobile number provided.
Have since found someone doing run between Bayonne and SJPdP. This may help if you are lugging with you a bicycle to do the Camino on. The replacement bus service may prefer your bicycle all packed and taped up:

Perhaps to dismantle and fit bicycle into cycle bag may be the only option available to travel on the replacement bus service from Bayonne to SJPdP.

Adhemar78 + mspath thank you kindly for clearing things up. We are actually flying from Schiphol Amsterdam to Bordeaux (with bicycles), then hoping to take the TER (TER allow bicycles onboard) train service down to Bayonne. Have also received email from SCNF indicationg TER only allow bicycles...
Thank you , that is good news. The Basque country is mountainous, which is a concern . Indications appear there are currently no work on ligne 62 between Bayonne and SJPdP, hope this is the actual situation...
Does anybody know when the TER trains resume their service to SJPdP? Two of us are arriving 20th June with bicycles. I would assume getting the bicycles on the replacement buses will not be possible. Any other transport options to get to SJPdP? It appears the distance between Bayonne and SJPdP...
