Good morning. It's been a while since I've logged in here. I walked 1,000 kms along part of Via Podiensis before joining Camino Frances and walking through to Finisterre (2016); then I walked 200 km (2018) along the Via Francigena (Tuscany/ Umbria area). I'm now researching walking in...
Unfortunately my brand new trail shoes are showing signs of tear in the fabric (after only 400kms). The manufacturers are ready to send a replacement pair out to Spain. I was thinking that Leon would work (I'll be there in about a week/10 days).
Where could I have the shoes sent pending my...
Wanted to let everyone know that there's a new albergue in Castildelgado (which is about 7 km after Grañon & about 10 km before Belorado).
Called Albergue Bideluxe, it's on your right as you enter the village - Calle Major 8, 09259 Castildegado (Burgos). It opened in August 2016; tel +34 616 64...
My Achilles Tendinopathy was always going to be the weak link in my Camino. I've done around 250kms over the past 17 days (averaging 15kms a day) but my left heel is getting more painful earlier on each day.
I've got custom-made orthotics & Scholl air / gel cushioned insoles. My shoes are Hoka...
Having joined this forum two years ago & been bitten by the Camino bug more than a decade ago, I'm finally on the road :)
Whilst I'd love to start from my home in France, just outside Geneva, I don't feel I should absent myself from my family for nearly four months, especially as I've lived &...
Having suffered from Achilles Tendinopathy for the last 6+ months, I've began researching ways of handling this. Surely athletes (which I'm most definitely not!) don't suffer for so long - they can't because they have to get 'back to work' Anyway, Active isolated stretches (A.I.) looks...
A friend, Pierre Angleys walked from Geneva to Santiago in 2005.
Ten years later, he is making another pilgrimage, this time a virtual - or armchair - camino. If this might be of interest to you, check out his website.
Buen camino
Suzanne :)
I'm reading Joyce Rupp: Walk in a Relaxed Manner in which she talks about gradually (& not always easily) letting go of being 'busy'. Letting go of distractions (music, books, newspapers, Internet...). Letting go of the need to fill her mind with so much 'stuff'.
Whilst I DONT wish to start...
I've never blogged in my life, but think it would be interesting for my husband and mother (probably not the children!) to be able to keep in touch with my day-to-day camino walk.
Although I'm not planning to go until September 2015, I'm in planning mode.
I would take my mini iPad, and wondered...
Reading a blog by Sandra, I was struck by this comment of her's: "The Camino's gift to me today was the sunflower fields"
What a lovely sentiment to look each day for such a gift (especially if that particular day is not a good one -- rainy, cold, foggy, blisters, annoying pilgrims ......)...
