Hello, this year I will have a special treat on my Camino. My 21 year old son has asked to walk the Porto to Santiago route with me. He is even offering to carry my things. Here is the question. I'd like him to experience the most interaction with other Pilgrims. Hopefully some younger ones...
So fellow pilgrims. I am planning to catch the first Ryan Air flight out of Santiago on a Sunday morning. Do you think I am going to have trouble getting a cab to pick me up at 5:15 am and transport me to the airport? I can change to flying the night before if it will be difficult to get...
So just a year ago on my first Camino I met a wonderful couple from New Zealand and walked with them for much of my journey. Two weeks after our Camino ended, Danny passed away suddenly. His wife Karen, his sister Katherine and I are leaving for a Camino in his memory next week. If you see us...
I thought I'd share this. So, I started the Camino May 30, 2015. Met many wonderful people along the way from all over the world. There were several of us who shared most of the journey together. One couple of my Camino family was from New Zealand. Such fun people, we all finished in Santiago...

OK, my friends, here is the challenge. If my teenage son was going to try to meet me on my Camino, how could I get him to Leon in the simplest manner? He is 16 traveling alone from US.
If I have trained appropriately, I am putting 50+ miles a week and growing on my hiking shoes, 10+ miles at a stretch, will I need back up hiking sandals? Or can I save a pound and take crocs?
Forgive my ignorance, but with all my gear, my pack weighs in at 14 lbs. My water bladder with 1.5 liters adds 3+ pounds. I weigh about 168. I pretty good on weight then, right? I have reduced down to minimal, bag liner instead of sleeping bag, rain jacket, no rain pants etc...
Hello;
My name is Carey and I am a 52 yo woman. I will be starting my first Camino from STJP on Saturday May 30th. Arriving in Madrid May 29th, train and cab to STJP. I am in training now and looking forward to the adventure.
