I can’t resist putting my paddle into the water on this one. Prince Edward Island has some of the best hiking trails in Canada. While “infrastructure” remains as an issue, B&Bs and restaurants are never far away (in-season), and businesses are responding to increased demand. I will attach a few...
Hotel Orchidee, 65 rue de l'Ouest, 14th arr., Paris, 75014. Great place, don’t fall for the expensive breakfast, easy walking distance to Gare Montparnass
A number of years ago, I came down with a nasty UTI just as I was leaving on a major excursion. I needed to pee every fifteen minutes, and I was embarrassed buying adult “diapers,” but after awhile I found them incredibly liberating! Since then, when faced with a dearth of public facilities in...
Married four times...to three different women, and I’m still learning! My ex ex and I divorced amicably after almost fifteen years together and two (inexplicably wonderful children). We remarried after ten years apart...why?...because the bonds of history and family are incredibly strong...and...
You will not have a stranger in your sleeper! When you book on Renfe or Loco2 they will ask you are you booking for one or two persons. When you enter one, you will pay a premium price (but nowhere near booking for two). The cabin is yours!

Not sure if this belongs in the Equipment forum so I will probably post in both! Where would you recommend I go to buy reasonably priced hiking poles in Porto?
I picked up scabies in Georgia once and it’s not fun! Generally they go to hairless areas...wrists, back of knees, etc. There is usually a relief from itching, then it returns when the eggs hatch (under the skin!) and the little buggers eat their way to the surface! Generally need to do the...
For those of us who are flying without checked baggage, it appears to be impossible to bring poles in our carry-ons. One might therefore think that there must be a lot of poles that get left behind in Europe. Is this the case and is there a stash anywhere? Are they all in SdC?
I am a newbie and will be walking the CP from Porto to Valenca along the Coastal Route in October. I am 73 and in good shape...and I am expecting blue skies and gentle breezes all the way...but should some ill-health or weather beset me, I was wondering if there are buses or taxis between towns...
