Rain Pants?
If your looking for rain protection, trousers do well in cold weather. BUT they are as mention heavy and hot. Another option would be a rain skirt/kilt. I also like to hike wearing shorts. Skirts are very lite, waterproof, and cool. Buen Camino!- AJohnson

What do you wash your clothes with
Great recommendations Jenny, As for me, I have used Earth Breeze Landry Detergent sheets on AT and now my Caminos. Also for bathing, try Scrubzz Bath Single Shower Sponges. Every thing weighs but these two products are no bargainers for backpacking.- AJohnson
