I used BlaBlaCar car to from Bilbao to Pamplona and Santiago to Porto. It was fantastic and SO cheap! One driver had me meet him at the local airport. I waited in arrivals thinking it must be a passenger but turns out my driver was a pilot lol. He can right off the plane, in his uniform, and we...
My friend and I will be leaving from SJPP on the 5th. Jen is from the DC area and I live near Philadelphia. We met in college and are looking forward to bonding during the adventure. It will be her first Camino and my 3rd. I have never started in SJPP as I always begin in Pamplona so this feels...
Hi! My friend and I are staying one night in Bilbao then need to make our way to SJPP because we have reservations at Orisson on the 6th. We are on a tighter deadline this Camino. Hopefully we meet along the Way!!:)
Hi all! My friend, Jen, an I are curious to see if anyone would like to share a taxi to SJPP from Bilbao on the 5th of May 2022. This will be Jen’s very first Camino. I have walked from Pamplona to Santiago twice before-2016 and 2018. I’m excited to finally experience the beauty of the Pyrenees...
Always! I love the donation boxes along the way. I have given and taken many useful items during my other Caminos…one time one of my Camino family found a chocolate bar!!😅
Thank you for the reminder! I need to buy waterproof mittens. My boots did not survive my second Camino so I tried switching to Hokas. I love the shoes but I am thinking about checking out their boots. Seems like they would help me more on uneven terrain and in mud🤔
Thank you for the words of wisdom! I was hoping my layered approach would work. I am pretty minimalistic on the Camino so not having to worry about bringing a coat makes me happy!
perfect! Ty! This is the first time I am bringing a bag heavier than a liner. I have had many a chilly night on...
I have completed two Caminos both starting in Pamplona. This May I will have more time and able to start in SJPP on May 6th. I am wondering how much cold weather clothing to bring. I always bring a fleece and a raincoat. Could I double up on those or am I underestimating the weather in the...
I also booked for May. About a week later I received an email with a link to pay. It just takes time to get a response but they have always responded to me. I wouldn’t worry, just trust the process. It is good practice for the patience you learn along the way. I quickly learned that time can...
Hi! I’m Sharon from Philadelphia and I will be walking the Camino Frances with my friend, Jen, in May. We land in Bilbao on the 4th and depending on the weather will start in SJPP or Pamplona on the 6th of May. If anyone is landing in Bilbao and would like to share a cab on the 4th or 5th let me...
I love all of this information, ty! I was wondering what it would be like on the Camino. I just canceled my plans for going Mid August. I am taking a friend and I want her to have the full experience with meeting pilgrims from all over the world. We are considering rebooking for late Sept. We...
***SO important!! In the US many insurance plans will NOT pay for ANYTHING if you travel to a red zone. My regular travel insurance is also not able to be used. I was to leave in two weeks and didn’t even think about how the raised level to red would make all my insurance useless. Please look at...
