    Problems with Carry-on Back Packs

Bruce, I carried my fold-up poles in my checked bag with no problem. If they fit inside your carry-on that’s acceptable. You generally cannot carry a knife or scissors of any size in a carry-on but it’s fine in a checked bag.

When did a Refugio become an Albergue?

I cannot speak to this question, but it urges one more important to me: Why are there tours on the Camino where people move en masse with tourist guides and carry lots of luggage that is transported for them? They reserve up the hostels and escape the primary experience of a pilgrimage. I do not...

    Reservations

All this discussion is disheartening and unfortunately counter to the spirit with which we all embarked. Looking at the wider map of caminos why not investigate the less trodden paths: e.g., Budapest-Wien-Linz-Salzburg-Graz-Zagreb-Triest?

    Sexism in outdoor clothing

And my complaint is that I like the mens’ colors better - muted, earth, natural. I’ve never been a woman to wear pastels and Crayola primaries.

who knew it would cost so much!

It’s random luck. If someone cancels, the company is scrambling to fill that seat and its price may drop drastically.

Danielle, Okay. But basically you just download the app for free from your apple or android App Store (which is also an app) on your phone. Then you input your name and number or email and that registers you. Then you look for mine and push a connect button and wait for me to accept. But no...

Let’s establish communication via What’s App. You must first download it and register. Look for me as Janine Lieberman. They...

Are you 70+ and still walking Caminos?

Hello - I’m 72 and planning my first for this May. I’m cross-training at home: yoga, gym, long walks and hikes, interval running, canoeing, whatever I can manage. I don’t push, just keep going at a comfortable pace. I found a front pack at AARN from New Zealand to balance the weight for my back...
