So, as an update to my previous post, my wife and I are currently about a week into our Camino Portugues route. We arrived into Porto a week ago and found it very interesting that they barely even checked our vaccine status at the airport when we arrived. Not sure if it was because our flight...
We are planning on arriving into SdeC a few days before Easter. When I looked at places to stay yesterday there were not many options left at reasonable prices so, like others have already mentioned, you may want to book sooner than later. Also, if the precessions are going on during Holy week...
Here's a link to Portugal's tourism website where they discuss entry requirements:

It looks like the US vaccine card is not accepted.

Chances are, you will have an amazing time wherever you decide to spend your time in Spain. But, since you asked everyone's opinion, here's mine: My wife and I had a few days to kill before starting our Camino this year. We split the time between Bilbao and San Sebastian and would highly...
Hi Kevin, and congrats on making the plan to walk the Camino. My wife and I completed our first Camino this year so, like everyone else who has walked the Camino once, we are now experts. (That's sarcasm, by the way. I feel I have to point that out more these days because people seem to take...
It is an interesting phenomenon that happens in Sarria that clearly separates pilgrims into distinct groups, those who started before Sarria and those who did not. I contemplated this quite often during that last 100 kilometers of my Camino earlier this year. For me, and for many others we...
Our friend Ulli shared this one with us during our Camino earlier this year: "Want to hear the shortest joke on the Camino," he asked. "Sure," we said. Ulli smiles and says, "A Pilgrim walks by a bar."
David, sorry to say, I think you missed out. My wife and I walked the CF earlier this year and saw the same sign. The second bar was empty when we walked in but it quickly filled up with friends after we stopped there. It was one of the most amazing bars of the Camino, in my humble opinion...
My wife and I are starting our first Camino around the same time. Hopefully, weather permitting, on April 1st when the Napoleon route opens. We will probably see you two at the start or somewhere down the road as we are in no rush. Happy honeymoon and buen Camino!
Thanks for the replies everyone. Looks like some others have posted similar questions. I guess there will be a few of us doing daily weather checks at the tourist office in SJPP this April. No matter what, I'm sure that whatever route we take will be the right one.
Buen Camino!
Howdy Pilgrims!
My wife and I will be walking the Camino Frances for the first time this spring. We are in the process of booking flights and such, but have a question about when the Napoleon Route opens. We know that April 1st is the first "official" day that the pass opens but that doesn't...
