Definitely. In A Fonsagrada, stay at Albergue Pensión Cuartel. The basement albergue is fine at 15€, but a room upstairs was just 25€ with dedicated bath(across a hall) with a tub for a soak. Delightful garden you can see but not get to out your window. Eat at Restaurante Cantábrico five blocks...
It’s sounds like you’re doing exactly what I would in that situation- making a broad-based and sincere attempt to return someone’s valuables. I applaud your willingness to take on this task. The policía have only so much time and energy, and it sounds as though the items were on their way to...
I say ditch that water bladder and carry two plastic bottled water water bottles. Typically super lightweight(7-8 grams per .5 liter bottle), refillable(just like a fancy Kleen Kanteen or whatever), easily and cheaply replaced if you lose one. I prefer Fiji water because the bottle is...
I found this thread with you on it and I have a problem with the Olvidado app- it suddenly started closing the app every time I tap the map icon. Please help?
I strongly recommend washing the pack thoroughly, as one wouldn’t wear the same t-shirt for 30 days or more without such. Does wonders for my comfort and everyone’s noses. Sunshine afterward to dry and kill bacteria and odor alike.
Hi Michael. I’m currently in Pedrosa de Valdeporres and I’m suddenly having trouble with your Camino Olvidado app. Since last night, every time I tap the map icon(upper right corner), it collapses the app rather than opening a map. Help, please? I’m using a 16 month-old iPhone 13.
When I’m León, walk to Calle Alcázar de Toledo,12. There’s an old, empty, beautifully run-down Jewish building complex there. It’s been for sale off and on for a decade or more. Trees growing wild in the courtyard.
The monastery in Urdax(ES) along the Baztan: a courtyard full of modern sculpture, empty but for me, and a town full of moneyed tourists uncertain what to make of someone traveling afoot through the town.
Bodenaya along the Primitivo.
And, for oddness, the the "riverfront" Albergue in...
Has anyone walked Astorga to Lugo to Braga, PT along the Via Atlantica? Any resources? There's a lot of intergovernmental talk from 2007-8 about it, then seemingly nothing? Thanks.
If you visit Xixon, make the daytrip or an overnight to San Miguel/San Roque/ Tazones. A tiny and charming fishing village 45-60 minutes east by bus from Gijon. Great seafood and quietly pleasant.
