Aha! That’s exactly what my Camino was - low budget and, well....what is “civilized” anyway? It was grand to be away from what passes as “civil” at home, and to enjoy the simple civility of the Chemin. I loved it!
Perhaps you will stand in some of the same places as the Roland of legend, or...
so, in deference to @Vacajoe, you could sing to your dorm-mates:
You look as cold as ice
So I'm willing to sacrifice my heat
You should take my advice
Someday you'll pay the price, not donativo
I've seen it before
It happens all the time
Crawl into my bunk
You leave the cold Camino behind...
Well....I was most comfortable in shorts, even from my start in mid-April. Those detachable pant legs stayed in the bottom of my back pretty much the whole way. Maybe just an effect of my more Northern being. What sorts of hot-blooded thoughts and questions have been percolating for you? I'm...

Thank you. Yes...this is a grand adventure!
"Still round the corner, there may wait
A new road, or a secret gate
And though I oft have passed them by
A day will come, at last, when I
Shall take the hidden roads that run
West of the Moon, East of the Sun."
Right foot. Left foot. Repeat.
:) I've been thinking a lot about "dorm etiquette" these past days....most albergues require departure by 8am and I've experienced overhead lights being turned on by fellow peregrinos as early as 6, despite there being many still sleeping. You can usually find somewhere to sit outside of the...
Well....it is just two weeks before I leave home, planning to start walking from St Jean Pied-de-Port on April 14 or 15. I've not found a related thread (forgive me if I missed it), but have still not decided on whether to use my contact lenses (prefer the clarity of vision and comfort/ease...
