This is a perfect example of why I LOVE THIS FORUM! Informed people around the world solving important problems - like acquiring the perfect what we call 'Camino brownie'. Thanks so very much for the recipes and hints on buyable snacks. I miss you all - stay well!
3 days from starting my next Camino and dreamed of fireflies in a meadow at eventide. I know there is a literary and folkloric connection between fireflies and the Camino - but for the life of me I can recall no specific stories.
Were they featured in a portion of 'The Pilgrimage'? Please...
Jealous of your mini-me! I resisted most of the souvenir calls but do have a tile in my main living space showing me the way and a small ceramic pilgrim which is a member of my Christmas nativity scene. Buen Camino - enjoy looking at yours.
Saw it last night with a couple fellow peregrinas. Very nice take on the Camino - more about dedication and community than most stories. In fact it helped me to articulate the key descriptors to what about the Camino that I long to recapture and maintain in my life. Buen Camino!
I was only slightly joking when I started this thread. I am walking the Camino to help me to build a new direction for the rest of my life. I may have found an important factor.
I tried a search this morning looking for the location of the SJPP postal office and got no results on the forum - nor anywhere actually but it's a minor deal and I let go of it. Pretty sure someone as sometime has asked/spoken about postal offices on this forum - so its not universally...
Techie here. I am opting to leave my tablet at home, store my documents in a cloud storage as well as put the folder on my phone for easy access. I want to minimize my recharge needs. My phone on airplane mode will hold a charge for 3 days and I can still look at the Auberge's pdf so nicely...
Thank you - the carb heavy breakfasts had me concerned also, I'll pack a spoon and follow your yogurt advice. I have my little frio cooler and am skilled at hiker blister prevention but hadn't really considered the shower dangers - I'll have to think on that issue. My physician is real excited...
I am also a Type 1 diabetic - starting out in late April of this year from SJPP. I am currently walking at least 7 miles a day around the neighborhood plus at least one full backpack hike a week. Did you have any diabetic issues/advice you could share with me? Thanks.
