    Padron Peppers

Thanks all, I will start with la tienda.com. Of course all of these suggestions, while helpful, are no substitute for enjoying them in person on the Camino.

    Padron Peppers

I loved the padron peppers when I was on the Camino. However, I live in a small town and have never seen them in the grocery store. Has anybody on the forum ever tried to grow them? If so, any pointers? What type of climate do you live in/

That’s certainly what I would expect as well.

    September 2022 Statistics

Looking at the official Oficina de Peregrino website it shows only 1774 compostelas issued for September. There were 85,842 issued in August, 67,734 issued in July, and 58,012 issued in June. Can this be right? Is there really that big of drop-off? According to the statistics, 66 of those...

    Using booking.com on your Camino

I liken Booking.com to Amazon. If you want to buy a stuff sack, you can use Google to search for stuff sack vendors. Once you find several of them you are interested in and you can contact them via WhatApp to check price and availability. Once they get back to you, you can type your ordering...

    Using booking.com on your Camino

I fail to see how Booking.com is ripping people off. They provide a service at a price, the vendors can decide to use it or not use it.

    Using booking.com on your Camino

Yes, you can. But using the Booking app, no need for those extra steps. Book it, look in the app to view the reservation at any time. No need to make notes or make calendar entries.

    Using booking.com on your Camino

When I did the Frances earlier this year, I booked my stays 5-7 days in advance (no need to debate whether that is good or bad, there are plenty of other threads for that). There is no way I could remember all those reservations. Plus, once I got in town, I open the Booking app, click on the...

Of course it is. But pen and paper is an ex un Of course it is, but pen and paper is an extra step and and extra thing to carry.

Another advantage of Booking.com is that you can see all your reservations in one place.

    Must-have sellos in Santiago?

I’m nearing the end of my Camino and am on my 4th credencial. I want to fill it up but also want to make sure I get the important selllos in Santiago, so I want to save room for them. Recommendations?

    Posting videos with a Phone

I try to, but when I hand my phone to someone horizontally they always turn it to portrait mode to take my picture/video. Very annoying. Camino de Santiago Day 1

    Apple Watch ¿Sí o No?

Currently on the Camino but didn’t bring mine. Although I love it, I didn’t want to bring one more cable. Haven’t missed it at all yet. I put my phone in airplane mode while walking anyway because I don’t want to be distracted by phone calls and texts, plus the battery lasts longer.

    Question about Sellos

I remember one bar that had a table by the door with a sello and inkpad and it was self service for stamping your credencial.

Poll Do you listen to anything while walking?

Why is it an either or question? Why not a little of both. When I hike, I normally take in my surroundings on the ascent, on the way back down I normally listen to music. If I'm walking for exercise on a boring street or road, I'll listen to an audiobook. Yes, I'd rather read than listen...

    Blogging tool for a non-blogger?

I'm debating how much I want to post when I go in May. On one hand, I'm sure friends and family would be very interested to follow my Camino. On the other hand, I fear that if I get too caught up in documenting things I won't be able to enjoy the moment.

    Blogging tool for a non-blogger?

You can restrict the visibility of your posts to specific people in Facebook. I'm not in love with Facebook by any means, I just think it's so ubiquitous that it's the simplest way to go and the people following you don't need a special link or app.

    Why not just use Facebook?
