I did it- and feel like a winna!

You are a winner! Congrats. I begin my CP in 3 weeks from Porto as well. I’m 67, my husband 69. I’m a bit anxious due to bad knees but we’ll give it a go. Cheers

Fun to run into another forum member

Day 4 today, since we’re bicigrinos who started in Burgos. Currently in Astorga. After leaving Castrojeriz the other morning I got my heart racing by that ride to the top at alto Mostelares. Just upon arriving I realized I recognized the family nearby, first noticed their Queen Elizabeth flags...

    Pre-Camino jitters?

Oh I don’t think I am a nervous flier, LOL. Just recently retired after 35 year flight attendant, the airplane is my home 😍 I think it’s the rest of what lies ahead that I have butterflies in my stomach about. But probably after the first day I will calm down!

    Pre-Camino jitters?

We left off in Burgos 3 years ago, after cycling from Roncesvalles, I thought I was done, but it turns out I’m not! Even though my husband and I completed our original Camino 10 years ago as peregrinos, we’re returning this Saturday to Burgos to go to Santiago as bicigrinos. I’ve been...

    Aqua para beber- drinking water

When we walked in 2012 I used all the fountains found throughout the Camino. Usually I assumed it was good for drinking, filling up water bottles. Is this still the case? Does anyone have any reason to do otherwise? Thanks, just thinking ahead…

    Finances to Feet

Aloha Jill I completely understand your wanting to begin in St Jean, I am thinking if it’s possible to delay your departure for 1-2 months the weather would be much easier and your foot much more healthy and prepared🌺

    Worried about my husband...

Just an update....the night before we left to fly to Paris my husband (Ralph) asked me what can he do to make us not have to go through with this?? There was really only one answer, NOTHING, because I have to do it, and again explained that altho I really wanted him to come with me, and share...

    Worried about my husband...

Thanks to all of u taking the time to share with me. He still doesnt have my level of enthusiasm for this venture, but a lot of times that happens and he ends being glad we did something, so Im hoping this will be the case once again. If not, possibly he will only walk part of a camino, and...

    Worried about my husband...

As a hands-on home inpsector/contractor, he really cant do his job from a distance, but I'm hoping he can just enjoy the month off, or I may have to put him on a train from Burgos, Leon....It is a self-imposed work issue, he really can afford to take the time off, but is so into running from one...

    Worried about my husband...

I've been wanting to do this for more than 10 years, and after my husband and I saw "the Way" it reinforced my desire to walk El Camino. Unfortunately he is a workaholic, altho he works for himself, he says he can't be gone for a month. Even tho he agreed to travel with me, I'm quite nervous...
